Helms wager cheating / exploits/ definition of toxic

Welp. I’m now officially done with the game.

After doing a helms wager. LOADED with a chest.

Seeing only one red target. Chasing me the entire time. Ok I’m safe.


(Not knowing that he’s already partied in a full entire group who didn’t join the wager)

Thinking everything is fine. I’m good to go.

I get about 1000 meters away from my destination and literally out of NOWHERE boats appear. Like magic. They appear even next to me.

In front of me. All around me.

All reds. Dumping on me. Waiting for my arrival.



This is the most garbage. GARBAGE system I have ever seen or witnessed in modern online gaming known to mankind.

To those people who did this? I hope you all get the most painful cancer possible. I’m being dead honest about that.

To anyone who supports this? Get run over by a car. I could care less.

Gaming in 2024 absolutely sucks. And it sucks because people support this crap.

I don't do them, I directly hit the escape key.
Just ride chilled out to every collection destination...on a second screen...and drop off 100-30000 at home. No need for silly stress time-wasting on that

I sometimes do the location capture pvp battles, just for funsie.

Otherwise, I only do pvp ( without any own stealable onboard cargo ) and if I see a red with 30 seconds travel distance of me...and if the pvp is on my current way anyway.
Just before you are in front of the red pvp guy...one can join the pvp activity, it leads to an instant heart attack shock of the enemy :D

BTW after accepting a wager...any further tokens you collect from your colonies also get added to your ship chest, which is a disadvantage for the original colony collector.

This was all great until the “season” update. Jesus I can’t go between two ports to pick up my Po8 without fighting at least two of these new ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous pirates. I was chewing up level 10 rogues and privateers like nothing but these things are a brawl every time. Almost sunk me twice in one trip. Lordy why are there so flippin many of them? The PvP Wager system was poorly thought out by Ubisoft as usual and/or left wide open for such "exploitation" knowing that people would essentially group up in Discord/VOIP and farm solo players.
Why do you think they keep the chat and ingame VOIP system disabled? Because of mean comments from a few random internet turds? lol....nope....

Solo players are meant to only make use of the Factory system by upgrading a few factories to max capability at a time and then upgrade all the Trade Route Helm Upgrades as well. The game is meant to "gate" solo players into spending massive amounts of time farming PO8s while allowing groups of players who coordinate via 3rd party VOIP to farm/feed and essentially run the Leaderboards for YouTube Subscriber clicks etc.

Here I thought they left chat disabled because they were worried players would gang up on *them* (and probably run off all the demo players at the same time).

Helm Wager is Exploited the hell out of. Today I saw a 167k wager. If you do it with a bunch of friends you are more or less safe to do what ever, nobody can really stop you/them.

If you ask me Helm Wager system should only be available to Solo-players, yes I'm aware that even making that limitation does not entirely prevent exploitation but it does severely limit the harm to the leaderboards. If you are in a group the "Double or Nothing", and for 3 hours after leaving the group, popup does not show. Putting a limitation on the Helm Wager like this should make it very hard to do or plan ahead of time. Or just separate out Leaderboards for each possible size of group (2-4) + Solo. And remove ability to be Healed by anyone but your own Repair Kits, if you've joined an Helm Wager event (not sure it this is already the case but I would venture a guess: that it's not).

Thing is...other than the Leader Board and mxxxed out Season Pass what is the point after you have bought all you need with PO8?

already have, without any Helm Wagers, don't know what to do with all the Po8

Well I mean long run you save and use for the season reset to buy all the perks for factories back. So other than...it's just a useless currency until they add more rare gear and templates to craft with? So is this the fastest end game reached by the player base in Ubisoft history?

I’m already at the point where there’s nothing I can do to make my ship better short of going with a meta 12 build. Wish I could get there with a pure close-combat ship though, I’m all demis, flame, and speed because that’s how I like to play. Know what I can’t do? Level 12 my ship. So I’m just grinding Po8 to grind Po8 better and faster for… Well I don’t know why.

Ran into a group doing this today. 5 people filled up the Wager Q to protect one guy. I was in the Wager Q and as soon as I went active PvP on him..3 of the others engaged me nonstop till the Wager guy got to port safely after running around for 30 min collecting...

I reported the main two..the Wager carrier and the other one in my face nonstop...should have screen shotted the Wager list to find the the rest in the Lobby menu and report as well.

The funny thing is every time I engage a Wager carrier and friends...the black sails always pop up around me as well and engage me not them. I had to kill two sets of black sails while fighting two real people...
