has anyone encountered a unable to launch direct 3d message when trying to start tghe game

Yes you have to set your desktop to 1024x768 then ingame you can increase the resolution.

hmm I only get a black screen when trying to play this game I can hear the video and the menu but unable to see or select anything.... I tried setting my RES to 1024x768... still no go... any ideas?

Fixed it... Support was no help BTW... Not sure which change or if both were the cause...
1. Turned off my other 3 monitors in windows.
2. Set my Resolution to 1024x720

And every thing ran correctly I was able to change it in game.

EDIT: Looks like it can not handle having multiple monitors running in the background.

listen to smoker guys ,in your windows display advanced settings there should be a show all resolutions and thanks to smoker he has fixed all 15 of the games i couldnt get to work respect smoker

So any other thoughts to fix this? I have tried the above suggestion and I do DX3D installed and enabled. I am guessing since it is an old game me being on a 64bit OS and running the x64 drivers has a good chance of being part of the issue?

So I haven't second monitor and my netbook monitor resolution is 1024x600. So can I get the confog.txt file that game generated after first run to play this game, please?

Ended up fixing my issue by uninstalling reinstalling then restarting steam and it worked fine with my resolution at 1920x1024.
