Gremlins vs. Automatons is a stand-alone game that we developed for the purpose of having a completely autonomous version of Gremlins, Inc. (meaning, GvA can be played with no connection to the internet and it doesn't require Steam). Every owner of Gremlins, Inc. owns GvA as well.
At this point, it is very outdated as we have troubles updating it but it still can be used for the purpose it was created. In terms of advantages – you can create multiple saves during the same session but that's about it. Everything else and much more is available in Gremlins, Inc.
They did mention that they were going to add an offline mode for Gremlins Inc but that was two years ago, and so far nothing so I don't have too much trust in what the dev has to say. If people can't keep their word than what's the point.
In that case we will only have an outdated game. That's why I have my reservations about online games.
Such is the life, that theater plays are not films, and online games are not offline games =).
We have to enjoy the moment.
As to GvA, well, at least we have a product that will survive the destruction of Internet (if ever), and it's included into the main game's package, as a bonus.
