Honestly if i play the damned and get a karma while i,m the highest malice, i just use it for movement.
There is also some time you want a misfortune to show up, especially with the actual ranking system where you see the next misfortune. I used the lesser evil to pick the snap election while I knew I would win it.
Framed and Life insurance are also very usefull to use on risk spot if you don,t want to land on a misfortune spot.
Engineer = sell your cog, invest money then build everything with 5 cogs or more
I dont see how any of them translates to damned?
Not to mention other Misfortune spot cards played from risk spots.
The skill can be confusing because regardless of you played Misfortune card or not you still have to face risk spot instructions.
Not many Inferno cards? Well 3 Chaos cards await your arrival and especially at the Clockwork Colony you can make small circles from Inferno to Inferno triggering 2 misfortunes each time. Remember that misfortune management is also about which one was not activated till their deck is reshuffled.
Play Inferno cards. That's it.
There are a lot of cards and permanents that give you money, even if your income gets negated by high bribes.
Be mobile. Go to Hell from any risk tile via Lesser Evil - pretty damn good option.
Be bad. Playing the Damned is not a cog gain race, it's about messing up the opponens' plans. Send misfortunes from risk tiles. Usurp a governor's position and collect bribes instead of paying them. Get some votes and go grab the opponen's cogs and money. Also, recently devs increased the reward for sending the opponent to jail via conflict - now you get the whole 2 cogs for it. Go get 'em. I earned 8 cogs like this in one of recent games. Feels pretty effective.
Finally, Damned is a fun character. You don't farm rating with him, but he's very satisfying to play in other ways.
1. You had better think Connections in Chaos is not there. Basically, lower malice as much as possible. It can be said about other characters, when raising malice you should raise it with no brake at a stroke. It's often an option to receive all bribes as governor, to use chaos or hell cards, and then to finish blow. Connections in Chaos is only useful for that short term.
2. As the next misfortune can be seen, keep in mind that the Ancient Curse has become easier to use for own gains. Inflation, Forced reform, Go to hell !, subponea, unexpected election, new wind, etc. and if you're not top malice, it's easy to send a misfortune which gives big damage by Karma!.
3. The next misfortune can be seen, Also the Aggressor is easy to use. In other words, you can crush the poor who is on the other side of the central misfortune without hesitation.
4. In order to use The dark pact effectively, let's take care of Forbidden Knowledge and From Inferno with Love. The Usurper is necessary to pay attention to the timing to use. There is almost no meaning just before the election, minus 5votes are a tremendous sacrifice. Don't use a Dangerous Artifact in the beginning of the game (it's possible to say to all characters). If you use a Deal with the Devil, 15votes in the beginning of the game, 15votes or 500G in the middle and 500G or 4score in the final would be good. But, if the Agent of Chaos remains in the final, I recommend 15votes.
Well, but after all, the Damend isn't superior to the strength of the Engineer, Secret Agent, and Thief. (If anything, these 3 characters are too strong...)
Gambler is weak but easy to use in a 4players match. Because weak, he is left.
Collector and Banker are weak, but having a lot of money and income are also high, so always easy to target. they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at AMS.
