Easier way to send ships to protect traders/miners?
So I was sitting on 120mil and wanted my miners to stay alive, while also taking out pirates getting bounties at the same time. Made a full fleet for them, x5 (when I ran out of money) and .. had to manually highlight the ships to send one fleet at a time to each miner

..is there an easier way to do this? Can I send ships as I purchase them to the miners?

Unless I'm wrong, I think we're stuck with this somewhat long-winded method.

My hope is we gain options to Automate Fleet reinforcements - like a Base builds its own Defence Fleet, it can also be asked to reinforce existing Fleets in the Overworld.

Additionally, a way to create a Fleet while docked in a station would be just about perfect. I.e. Create new Fleet - new Tab appears - click add ship to New Fleet.

Either or both of these options would be amazing for sure! It gets tedious doing it as is

Bonus when your reinforcements can't catch up to join their intended fleet (No no no don't keep heading for that gate your fleet target has already turned around...you'll get there eventually) until they are slowed down by pirates.

The Anubis is absurdly capable in overworld combat. A trader or miner with one should be safe from most things. With two it will be safe from everything short of a warfleet
but i agree we do need more tools to protect your stuff

A filter button for upgraded / nonupgraded ships would also be nice.

was noticing this as well, probably because defense guns don’t shoot down any of its missiles, and every shot of its main gun is calculated as landing

I'm not sure how you're keeping mining fleets safe from racers/killjoys along with their mini fleets, with only an Anubis. Then again, I haven't tried...

I just tried them on my remaining 4 miners and they both work for survival

My original fleets for them seems to have been overkill

Overworld combat only takes into account health and damage. Anubis doesn't have amazing damage but it does enough and can take quite a beating. The pirates use this to great effect a lot. Definitely a good pick for miner escort.

To be absolutely certain, all my miners and transports are guarded by 5 ronins.

This post makes me so proud because I only give my Hercs 2 frigates and a couple corvettes+roaches tops.

I bet you don't take any ship losses when YOUR traders kamikaze into a hostile base for shopping. My corvettes are "if I noticed corvette dying in the log,I know it's time to check if my trader(s) are is inside a pirate base again" bad UI workarounds at this point.

Miners do deserve jumbo guards unless they only go to owned fields, because a Tug will happily suicide into a field if pirates took it over when you were not looking.

keep in mind when you start going to war with more powerful factions/get later in the story the threat to your trade gets significantly more intense.

I have civilians at 7 rep, just in sandbox mode. Never cared for stories in space sims

I'm at the point want to get some destroyers so I can take out the beggers, but they never have patrolling destroyers or anything. Frigates max

not sure if that changes

the “revenge” and “base defense fleet” missions will have destroyers leading them. otherwise you’ll have to find war fleets led by destroyers.
