Scourge of War: Waterloo

Scourge of War: Waterloo

Sandbox no prussians in allied army
So i want to do a full army vs army on sandbox but it seems very unbalanced in that the allies have the prussians and the british army equalling over 200k men vs the 120k of the french. Is there any way to make it just the british army vs the french army? i have tryed clicking on the welli in control of the british army but it just puts bluc on ai controlled? Thx

you can try to use the option balance in the settings.

I'm fairly new to Scourge of War Waterloo myself but I've just finished playing the last scenario as Napoleon in Waterloo battles and the battle was more balanced with Prussians only arriving at 3.30 and with only 30,000 men and didn't get involved in the fighting, mainly because I moved all the French over to their left lol Also the battle was more historicaly accurate. As for getting rid of the Prussians completely ?? I have no clue sorry, you'll just have to hope Grouchy turns up eventually :)

We are not talking about scenarios here. In the scenario the french have about 70 k men and the english too with 42 k or so prussians coming to aid them.

In the sandbox thats not the case. In the sandbox you command all men that were in the waterloo CAMPAIGN also its unscripted

That means if you start an army vs army SANDBOX battle you will get 120 k men as napoleon and fight against 230 k allies from the beggining. So you start with the men that fought at quatre bras, ligny waterloo etc at once.

:) i know you wanted to help but nobody said that prussians should be removed from the historical scenario with historical numbers :D

Its not working in the army vs army sandbox. Only when you play corps vs corps etc. :)

Yeah well I may be fairly new to the game but already put 150 hours in so I know the difference between the various game modes and have played the sandbox version a few times, so what I did one time was using grognards expanded toolbar was start the game and ordered Blucher to a far corner of the map with his whole force and then locked them out the action so the AI wouldn't bring them into the battle and with the bare map selected it was a case of out of sight out of mind and I could play as the Anglo-Dutch army Vs The French :) Could it really be that simple ??? Hope you find a solution if that still doesn't help you :RedLion:

Hello guys! The solution is to mod the OOB via the scenario editor. Once you understand how to use it it's a matter of a couple of minutes. I just made an OOB with Napoleon against Wellington only. If you are interested I can post it on the NSD forum or I can help you if you want to make it by yourself.

Well thats awesome :) i have 103 hours in waterloo as you can see on my profile
and 200-300 hours in sow gettysburg.

And with 150 hours youre not 'new' anymore in my book :P

And ofc that would be a 'workarround' but me and my group plays french mostly. There is always corps vs corps but sometimes we want to do a bigger battle and a little balance would be awesome then even though as it is is a challenge for sure.

Thanks for your thoughts anyway mate :)

No problem pal and that looks great what Blondo has posted, I'll defo be taking a look at that soon enough. Scourge is a great game for sure, I thought Napoleon total war was going to be the best I could ever hope for regarding the Napoleonic period (I've about 4,000 hrs on that on and offline) but then came across Scourge Waterloo and it was like someone had taken my dream for a perfect game and created it :) I'd crawl on hands and knees to thank the Norb guys for what they have created :) Best of luck with the editor, hope you get that balance you desire :) :GoldenLion:

Thanks pal I'll have a look at that myself now :) I'll let you know how I get on !

Thanks again Biondo, I've set it up and everything seems just grand, even a better start position for the armies relevant to the real battle :) Thank you Sir, you and your team are the best ! If you come up with any other mods like this, could you also post those on the Norb forum for us ;) Scourge is going to be my number 1 game for some time !

Oh yes. I couldnt aggree more haha

I thought total war is so realistic and huge and then i came across sow. Now total war lost its magic for me as the battles dont feel like battles anymore... more like way to fast, unrealistic small skirmishes.

And thanks mate you too :)

Couldn't agree more :) I've been saying since getting Scourge that Napoleon Total War battles seem like a storm in an egg cup now since seeing the scale of Scourge battles :) And I think you will like what Biondo has done for you :) I just set it up and well not only has it done exactly what it says on the tin, but also put the armies in a better start position :) Just brilliant, I'm going to enjoy it so much, hope you do too :) :SilverEagle:
Biondo Jan 16, 2017 @ 4:02am
Just to be correct, starting position of troops is not part of the mod. It's a random choice of the game, it's not my doing :)
