whats the point of the ice axe?

It seems to do even less damage than the normal weapon and has a slightly slower attack speed, so whats the point of this weapon?

it deals more damage to enemies that are weak to it. also it has a huge hitbox.

^This + the third strike in the regular 3-hit combo does pretty decent damage, if you can't or don't want to land the brutal strike instead.

u can benefit much from its huge hitbox when you deflect projectiles. i found it pretty useful

no. You don't understand. The differences between the two weapons are so minor, that it was very pointless from the developer to implement them, from a game design perspective.

hmm i dont think its pointless. some types of enemies die much quicker if u use the ice axe (thinking of the green skeletons atm) and yes hitbox is bigger. eventhough personally, im not that skilled, id prefer there was only ONE weapon in the game cause now i have to switch back and forth for enemies and that almost blows my mind ;D
