The developer should understand that he is going to receive a lot of hate if he puts himself out there and then simply scurries away. I assume he would never want that, e s p e c i a l l y for the fact that he even continued to update the game for a short while on Twitter after the release of this game on multiple sites, including "Humble Bundle" (proving that he was planning on finishing the game beyond the alpha (unless that was also a trick)).
A few years ago, I had a friend who would constantly post about his family and life on his Facebook page, and suddenly, he just went blank with no new posts. The Monday we got back to school, the word was that "he died". And it ended up being true; he was trapped in a fire and his name was on TV.
Rest in Pieces.
Comparing that to this, the developer of this game has not posted nor replied to ANYONE or ANYTHING on any of his accounts for OVER A YEAR AND TWO MONTHS. Not even Sean Murray, creator of the disppointing abandoned game of lies titled "No Man's Sky", or the cause of Harambe's death, Michelle Gregg, was able to leave the internet for that long after a case of major embarassment. They had to reply to people eventually, it's just how our world works now. Internet is becoming a major part of our world, whether we like it or not. There IS no true escape.
These sudden occurences can happen. They aren't common, but the same has occured with major Nintendo game company President Satoru Iwata 2 years ago while directing the updates for Super Smash Bros. Rest in Peace.
Then again, he probably got locked out of his accounts or moved to a new one.
However, that can't be true, E S P E C I A L L Y for 14 months without any sign of him on any social site whatsoever.
Damn, I should become a news article writer.
I see, I still believe it's quite strange to leave your social media accounts all at once when there was a time you were constantly updating them, with no sign of the user replying or coming back for 10 months since 2016. I didn't believe he is completely dead, but I thought maybe he could be "ill", as in, depressed.
This same thing happened with an animator named Mark Haynes who made Super Mario Bros Z., who just suddenly gave up, and walked away from the internet, but even then he had to come back to assure people he was okay, in one form or another. He became too depressed from too much workload in his environment and didn't want to continue with his passion for animating. So, he became an adult artist instead for a while until he was able to return to his passion.
This game's developer maybe going through the same depression situation...
HOWEVER
This may not the first time the developer Svajūnas Žemaitis has just abandoned an unfinished game. He also worked on a game "What the Heck, Dude?" with another account. The game was in early access for a short while until the game just decided to become the final version, leading to a few disappointing reviews. And apparently he was working on another game that I don't remember, and has been already released, AND he's working on a game about punching bears...
So maybe he's working incognito, or maybe he's really depressed, I am really not sure anymore. I just have a weird habit of writing long discussion posts.
Good question.
When you type the developer's name into google:
The first thing you see is his Twitter, which I thought he was still updating, but it hasn't been touched for over a year.
The second thing is a specific post about garbage day, dated all the way back to 2015.
The third thing(s) are pictures of the developer's profile picture and what could be the
Login 2016 Convention Lynx talked about earlier.
Fourth thing is a link to Garbage day, but on a different platform.
The next few result are games he reviewed on PC Gamer using his name.
Eventually you will reach his other social media accounts, which include Youtube, Instagram, Google +, and possibly, Facebook. There is no sign of any of those accounts being updated, ESPECIALLY Google Plus, which hasn't been touched since 2014, and i don't blame him, no one uses G+. (Unless it's for making a youtube account, which also has not been updated since 2015.)
However, his account on Instagram is marked as private, so it's possible that he could be posting and we just don't see it.
I'm going to follow him, and if he accepts me, then we can confirm that he is alive, and just extremely lazy (or depressed, like I said earlier).
I provided the link so you can help search him out.

I wouldn't know what he's up to right this moment, regarding development on Garbage Day of course.

Look familiar ?
Unfortunately, It turns out he's not. He moved on to yet another game project (i can't remember the name of the game he's making now).
Apparently, He didn't stop working on this game entirely, but he's laying this project off to work on that other project.
