How to get to the very top of Royal Towers in past?

I don't know how to get up through the top exit of the room just after the Aelana fight. My map clearly has it marked as an exit, but there's no handholds that I can see. I'm pretty much fully upgraded as far as I can tell, though I could be wrong. I have 98% of the map in the past, and just under 90% of the map in the present. Do I need a particular upgrade? Is there something I'm just missing here?

If you keep playing the game, you'll get something that gets you up there. Either sidequests or the main game will get you one of two ways.

Thanks. I did eventually figure it out. I guess I was mostly just afraid of moving forward without unlocking everything.
