I remember playing this on my amiga I believe, what a freaking classic.

It hasn't aged very well though and thats whats putting me off. Like the Wing Commander games, they used to be great fun but playing them now it's just painfull in many ways.

sorry, there is no amiga versio here and did't find any trace for amiga versio.

Played it all the way through sometime in the late 90's. It was an incredible hidden gem. It's a Mechwarrior game but much more immersive in the same way that SystemShock was. Lots of dialogue and action, it's very fast paced. Unlike MechWarrior, your robot suit is very fast making the action more seat of your pants. I especially appreciated the little details like static in your HUD, and systems failing when you get hit. I recommend watching some gameplay videos online. It's aged and all pixelated now, but definitely worth checking out if only to see how great some games used to be.

Gameplay-wise, it aged quite well. As skykid14 have said, your power-armnor is pretty agile and fast, in adition to that controlls and interface are pretty accesible and easy to get used to (especially in comparison to something like original System Shock).
There are also some pretty "modern" touches (even if they were not unique to this particular game), like for example leaving map markers that appear both on mini map and on your display.

The game was certainly prototypical for 1996... It incorporated a lot of stuff you didn't see until much later into FPSes... Multiple weapon loadouts, squads, squad commands, and jump/jet packs for limited flight.

The graphics haven't aged well, but the gameplay is fantastic, and one of the best games of the 90s you probably never played. Is it worth $5.99? I don't know. But if it goes on sale for $2-3, I'd absolutely get it.
Fantastic game.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I didn't actually buy it in the end, but I do enjoy reading your comments about the game mechanics etc. Sounds like it was ahead of it's time in it's hey day. If it comes on sale again next time round I may well pick it up. Cheers folks

I actually don't want to play this game.
Not because it is bad, but because I'm afraid of spoiling my memories of it.

Viewed through the experience of modern mechanics and graphics, this can never ever live up to the memory.
I'd easily pay €60 for a proper sequel/remake, though.

Terra Nova is as fun as it ever was, in addition to offering kind of depth and flexibility you won't see in modern AAA games.

Purely in the eye of the beholder. Recent AAA release "Mad Max" looks gorgeous and has open world but... gameplay-wise, it's the same flat tower-climbing from every Ubi game since 2007. As minsc said, Terra Nova is as fun as it was in '96 demos, only the full title today costs as much as the magazine with the disc used to cost on the magazine rack, with the bonus that it's deeper than many recent releases.

I would encourage any interested parties to check this title out. Maybe a renewed interest could see a renaissance for the game, Firefly-style. I won't get my hopes up, though.
