That's correct, since the game is situated in Norway the actress is Norwegian too :)

I cringed at the english voice acting but I switched it to the native Norwegian voice with english subtitles and it is so much better! :)

Im Norwegian and just cant play this with norwegian vo.. The English isnt that good, but atleast it sound more alive then the static boring norwegian vo. (They just read their lines wihtout any delivering) :/

I prefer the Norwegian voice acting because I have no idea what they are saying, with the english voice I can tell how bad it is. hah

I think its solid - She is not a native English speaker, and given the narrative of the game I think its fitting. Better than the generic, over emoional voice actors in most games.

Its even worse in Naitive. Dead emotionless reading straight from script with no "acting".

The voice actor is Norwegian so the English is not perfect, which was what we wanted since the game's story happens in Norway.

The tape recordings may sound very emotionless, which is intentional, the main reason being everything the protagonist has gone through and the situation she's now in. She's lost everything in her life and just simply has no emotions left. That's how we saw it happening anyway, and a more realistic approach than over emotional acting in some other games like @ModestMarill said :)

Probably, it would be useful to place bigger emphasis that the monologue which we hear is tape recording, flashback, it's the past for the protagonist, not present.
When she see that monsters, horror, hear ghosts - her voice is emotional without any doubt, she feels that emotions right now. And in monologues she's emotionless, hollow, empty because all is over, she lost everything and where is no way to turn back anything. All in the past for her.
We must be able to hear the difference clearly, that's I'm about.

The tape recordings are quite ok. They sound like she is "blogging" and the more "flatness" is expoected :P Its the other dialogs that are "flat" and "emotionless". But that is quite normal for Norwegian actors. Same flat lack of delivery in their movie / tv roles and really lacking in dubbing experience. ..

Well, I think it's most based on the mothertongue language of player. For example, I'm from Russia, so for me all english (and norwegian) speaking people sounds a bit emotionless, monotone. And I'm sure for, say, italian speaking person my emotional language is flat. :)
Speaking of preferred localization of this game, I like norwegian voice with russian subs, it looks more.. authentic. And I simply like how norwegian sounds. :)
