I think the song is meant more for us (the players) than for the detectives. The problem with the song is that Eve is the younger sister (check the Florence birth account) who wore the blonde wig. Perhaps Eve feels like her life is being snuffed out. After Hannah gets pregnant w/ Simon, Eve goes off to live her own life, with no real identity. And all she could do after being torn apart was sing that one sad song about the wind and the rain.
Just some thoughts.
But... yeah. I think either
a) Eve killed Hannah
*or*
b) using multiple-personality theory, Eve dominates/overcomes Hannah in the end.
Hannah could have tried to drown Eve, but it could also be the reflection of Eve in the water. Eve talks a lot about mirrors and reflection, and water works the same way.
What doesn't make sense to me is why they'd risk being seen together? That would've destroyed everything they've worked for. If one person they know sees them together, the truth will be out. Like in the story when they tried to run away for a concert. They ended up in a police station, but apparently only Hannah was picked up by their parents. Then how the hell did Eve get out of that situation?
The Wind and the Rain is a version of an old Murder Ballad "first known to have appeared on a broadside in 1656 as "The Miller and the King's Daughter."". (see The Twa Sisters[en.wikipedia.org])
Hannah could be spinning the story from her knowledge of the song, or the song could be an Eve favorite because of what happened between her and her sister. Or there's no sisters at all.
But Hannah always drank tea. It's inconclusive at best. One or the other has changed what they are drinking. The question is which one.
I think it's Eve because Hannah would have no reason to react negatively to being aske for her fingerprints. They already had hers. Giving them again would simply shore up her alibi and "prove" to the police that they are not twins. But if it's Eve, a negative reaction to being asked for fingerprints makes sense.
That's fair, but she does seem confident that they will match. She is agitated in general in that interview since the detective has caught on about them being twins. I don't think she is hostile solely because of the fingerprints.
I could see it being either, like you said, but I still feel it's Hannah going off the subtle differences in their personalities.
