Who was Sarah's mother?
Do you think it was Eve, Hannah, or both(if they were a single person with multiple personalities, or lying)?

i think it was Eve. isn't she the one with morning sickness? someone correct me if i am wrong.

also when Sarah is asked "do you understand why your mother did what she did?" i interpreted that as "do you understand why Eve turned Hannnah in?" -- even though that question could be interpreted maybe a dozen different ways, that was my first reaction to it.

btw i don't subscribe to the MPD theory even thought it IS plausible, it has too many vague holes in it to really hold enough weight for me to care for it more than the implausible yet equally possible twins ending theory.

<tangent>

i do think both of them are serial or compulsive liars, though, by which i mean as a symptom of mental disorder rather than just "a person who tells a lot of lies".

serial/compulsive liars usually become very good at lying by nature of tricking themselves into believing their own lies.

if they are the same person, then at least ONE of them is a compulsive liar, and ONE of them is bad at lying... remember when they talked about tests at school, how each one would always take the test that the other one was bad at?

well when Eve/Hannah takes the lie detector test - the only thing she gets wrong is her name.

this means that the one who was best at lying took the lie detector test, and could probably have passed a lot of questions with false answers if she was good enough, but because their names are so closely tied to their true identities, i doubt even the "better liar" could pass the name part of the test.

BTW, i think that the game was intentionally written to be open ended in this way and any loose strings or ambiguous things (such as: are they the same person or not) was 100% intentional writing.

it was one of those "whatever you believe happened after seeing it for yourself is the correct ending" type of stories, specifically for the purpose of getting people talking and wondering what they felt was closest to the truth. introspecting.

From memory, we only see Sarah's reflection on the screen only clips that are of Eve, which makes me think Eve is definitely the mother (as she says she is).
