To warn people. I don't want people wasting their money on crap like this thinking that it is a real game. Its not a game. It is an interactive movie. If it would just be honest about that, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
I would just like to see game devs make actual games instead of low-cost gimmicks to turn a quick buck. It can't be terribly difficult to make something like this.
If you like it, I think thats great. I'm happy for you. I hope there is more stuff like this that you can enjoy. By some stretch you could call this a game, but does it have any replay value?
From what I can tell, all games have replay value, but if the "game" for you is making choices to reveal information so you can discover who the murderer is, and its always the same person, what would be the point of "playing" it again.
This to me seems about as much of a game as a chose-your-own adventure book would have, but with less replayability.
You my good sir are the reason why we get COD clone number 800 every year instead of new and interesting ideas. You have to crack alot of eggs until you eventually make that omelette. If game developers thought like you every game would be a FPS snore fest, I love unique games that explore genres which aren't really touched on or have never been done before.
This game is unique in the way it's set up, the gameplay, and actually all things considered the main actress did an amazing job of capturing what a police interview looks like.
Would be nice if the developer strung together three pieces of video and sold them as DLC... I'd buy it for sure, even if they were like 15 - 20 minutes a piece or something.. Then again as I said, I'm a huge crime and punishment buff...
obviously you lack the ability to read and comprehend, the main page of the game tells you just what the game is and what you should expect from playing it..
"Her Story is the new video game from Sam Barlow, creator of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Aisle. "A crime fiction game with non-linear storytelling",
Non linear meaning the story will never change...
"Her Story revolves around a police database full of live action video footage. It stars Viva Seifert, actress and one half of the band Joe Gideon and the Shark."
Hey look it says the game is full of live action video footage... which you know, is just what the game is a bunch of live action video footage...
"How does it work?
Her Story sits you in front of a mothballed desktop computer that’s logged into a police database of video footage. The footage covers seven interviews from 1994 in which a British woman is interviewed about her missing husband. Explore the database by typing search terms, watch the clips where she speaks those words and piece together her story."
OMG look right there, it tells you just how the game works, you type key words into the datebase and watch videos.. I don't see any lies, or any deception that you need to set right, anyone with half a brain that has the ability to read can see what this game is all about by simply reading the game page..
With that said, stop trolling chief, the only thing you're trying to do is toot your own horn.. Also maybe you should just stick to your AAA games, since you seem to lack the ability to comprehend what indie games are supposed to be.
what this guy said. next time read before you post some stupid thread like this
