A person can survive 4 days without water. When it comes to food, the needs differ a bit from person to person so if you want your survivors to live and stay healthy, it's best not to let them stay hungry for too long :) Ration your supplies carefully and when needed, and remember that people who are in a better condition have a higher chance of surviving an expedition.

This is the first game where the devs responded to me in less then 10 mins. i take my hat off to you robot gentlemen. Also how do expeditions and sickness affect peoples needs?

Well, this time it's more than 10 minutes because I was having dinner. Sorry! ;) Expeditions tend to be tough on people, so it's not surprising that your survivors might come back tired and they will need to regain their strength before going out again. People can also get injured or contract an illness when outside. Sickness and injuries - if untreated - can be deadly. Keeping your family well fed can be of help in dealing with a sickness (although the only solid cure is treating them with a medkit) and it can also help preventing a sickness (like in real life, malnutrition/constant hunger will result in feeling overall worse and might increase the chances of getting sick). If you take good care of your family, they will regain their strength and health faster.

Thanks for the advice! I didn't know the sickness could kill people in this game, i just thought it made them bad for sending out. So in a basic nutshell, feed someone before sending them out, and feed family often. Got it. Thanks!
