Yes, there is an end you can get, a good ending... the game end if soldiers save you, but you have to open the door if it knocks... but there are not always the soldiers whos knocking, can be raiders, then you are dead :-)

Personally I think I got the bad ending and good ending at the same time on my first play through, I can't remember the day I was left on cause its been ages since I played the game,I just know I remember dave,or what ever his name is died on me once I opened the door it happened to be the soldiers and somehow I still got rescued though he was just a pile of bones at the time from dehydration lmfao.

There are three endings to the game, counting death. However, there will be more added in the DLC!
