Can you win at this game?

A early fumble for a sec or two allways makes me restart, lost count on the number of times i have restarted before getting to the bunker because of fricking blockades made out of chairs etc blocking the path out of the room.So far my record is 58 days with the boy,woman and man.

After playing a bit it has become clear to me that some items are junk and not worth it to grab early on as you are likely to find it while looting anyways or by trade events.

The Radio,Gass Mask,Gun,Ammo,Medkit,Book,Spray and Axe seems to be the stuff to grab
along with atleast four or five of food and water and any familly member you manage to grab.

How about you guys who have played this game longer or done better early? Have any one won the game so far?

i played just the survival bit on fatman difficulty and got rescued on day 44.

[Basic]

I've had dozens of 50+ day games and have never once survived / been rescued. Sometimes I'm killed outright, other times my shelter is stolen / people get lost on expeditions.

It's impossible to defend your shelter against raids without losing items. I've had support from pancake, mutants, repaired the rifle multiple times in the same game. No matter what I do, by day 45, I get raided every few nights (even if I don't do many expeditions).

Since it's impossible to get defensive items as fast as they're used up, it's a slow death spiral.

Frankly, I'm getting close to writing a negative review because this seems to be pure RNG and no skill whatsoever.

Win? I don't know if you can...but you can get saved. Just went through a playthrough and the twins saved only Ted.

Started with the wife and son, but the wife died of sickness and timmy got himself captured >_>

I survived though xD

I once survived because of one reason: mutant Jane xD too bad I didn't record it back then yet she looked hilarious
