Is the Chapel Bell tower missable?
So I am on like day 50-something of my first playthrough of this game and a book in the library had some info about the chapel bell tower in the abbey at which point I did some googling to learn that one of the Abbey "mysteries" involves getting up there when you hear the bells ring.

The thing is, that happened already in my game many, many days ago. Based on my googling, it will ring again when the chest 'resets'....but I never went up there the first time they rang, which implies it will never ring again (something not opened cannot reset...right?)

I just want to know if that's true, or if I'll get another chance for the ladder to appear. I did a google search and have read a ton of reddit posts and other sites about this and none of them mention whether it can just be missed entirely in a playthrough or if it will repeat again if you missed it the first time.

Edit: In addition to the answer I marked as "correct" I want to add some clarification now that I know more. The bells ring every 10th day, so they ring on day 10, day 20, day 30, etc.

I have had ~15 new moons in this playthrough and the bells have only rung once (so far).

I'm sure they rang three or four times in my last playthrough. Very odd. I can't seem to find anything online referencing what triggers them.

I asked this same question on reddit and someone there said the bells ring every 10 days, like clockwork. I don't know if it is true or not, but they did ring for me since I made this thread, on day 60....which is a factor of 10, so they may be right. Just means I totally missed it 5 times.

The first time the bells ring when you're waking up you (the Hunter) comments about it with voiced narrative. I didn't realize it meant anything special when that happened to me though. In some of the wide shot cut scenes of the Abbey you can also see it (from the outside).

It wasn't until around day 52 when a book in the library went into some detail about the bell tower that I realized there might be a way to get up there so I googled it, and sure enough, there is.

Since making this thread the bells rang again and I did go up. There's one legendary chest, a caretaker's journal page and an Arcane key up there.

Nice. Thank you for posting that here. You heard them on day 20, I heard them on day 60 (finally), so I'd say that kind of confirms what the person who said they ring every 10 days said on reddit.

I'm going to add the "bells ring every 10 days" info to my original post so that anyone else searching for this same thing actually gets a specific answer.
