Pretty sure the dialogue stuff isn't what caused the lack of sales... But you probably already knew that, huh?
I suppose that's why you're to use the false premise to somehow argue that current players = sales.
I assumed that because it is the most hated aspect in many reviews. But I am interested to ear others opinions about. What caused poor sales for you?
(Xcom 2 3.500 Current players \ 150.000 All time PEAK).Which is 1/43 people like it.
So POUND for POUND . MORE people like Midnight Suns, over Xcom 2 that have tried it.
Interesting. : )
Yet you post these "yah, boo" threads on a game you don't own and have no apparent interest in. Why? You know the devs don't read Steam forums so it can't be an attempt to get a message in front of them.
Do you do this for other games you don't like or own and I just haven't seen? It just seems perverse to me.
I never comment on games I don't own.
I comment on this game despite not owning it because I love Firaxis, I wait for their games and I predicted this game would flop, so I am kind involved in the discussions about this game.
It is fair to make a comparison with Xcom 2 since it was their previous title, which showed a much larger success, and I think it is interesting discussinig about the failures of Midnight Suns.
This is no a "ya boo" thread but a discussion one, I really don't know what's wrong with it or why it annoys you so much.
I want to know other's opinion about why the game failed, it is an interesting topic in my humble opnion.
Please tell me you are joking.
The peak for Xcom happened 7 years ago, when the game released. You cannot compare the (relative) number of people still playing, to that to a game that launched just 4 months ago.
The fact that there are still twice as many people playing a 7 year old game, instead of a 4 month old game speaks volumes.
The fact that superhero games sell their vast majority of copies on consoles, not on Steam, also speaks volumes.
The full sales performance of the game is yet to be seen since it needs the last-gen console versions to come out for that. It was never going to sell much on Steam compared to consoles, superhero games never do that. This just isn't a platform where they'd be popular. Feel free to compare the records of the most selling superhero game ever(Insomniac's Spider-Man from 2018) on how it has sold on Steam. Or how the DC Universe Online only survives on PC to this day because of the crossplay with console.
Marvel games are also suffering from a popularity slump on consoles of course, but the numbers will still be higher than here. Unless the Marvel game brand has entirely collapsed due to Disney's actions, overall sales of MMS could eventually be close to what Xcom 2 sold since it did well on PC but not so great on consoles.
The social sim could've used some better writing, but it isn't the reason people didn't buy it.
I assumed that when the publisher said "Disappointing sales" he intended as a whole, console included
This is what the OP posted. I am using HIS numbers that he felt were valid NOW. So on that info. Midnight Suns is MORE then 4x BETTER. : )
