This game got unjustly dumped on by action junkies (mostly men) who couldn't stand having to spend more than 5 away from the action, or for that matter a lot of them who reacted to the representation (many probably without even realising that they're racist and/or sexist). I think this should be a huge hit with, amongst many others, female players, but game companies are still so sexist that it hurts (us mainly, but also them). I doubt any real thought was (or ever is) put into marketing games to women where more than a few of the customers are expected to be men. And of course if you don't expand the female player base that will never change, but none of them are looking long term, just next quarter :(
On the question of Storm, I feel they're more obligated to provide, as it was promised they will provide Storm. That and the last-gen ports, which they better provide.
As for your second topic, did you seriously need to turn this into a gender thing? Like, this is more insane than when that one guy got offended by Morbius asking if a black Hunter can tan; at least THAT is a case of not considering if certain things would come off offensive in certain situations. This? This feels like you're reaching.
While I personally find the combat good and the Abbey having potential (just not done well), I feel the idea of people wanting more action in their superhero games is actually very reasonable. After all, superheroes are all about real-time action and people want to feel like said superheroes in their games. This is why the Spider-Man games always wins people over as you enjoy swinging around on webs, and why the Arkham series succeeded as people love being Batman with all the martial arts, gadgets and investigation skills. For me, for as well made as this game is, it really doesn't need to be a Marvel game, and the IP I feel just put a limit in their story telling and profit.
Tomorrow
You will not need to start a new game to use Storm. The other DLC characters were all able to be picked up mid game or even in the postgame, so Storm should be the same.
TLDR for those inclined not to read: "Sucks to be them".
