Are there other team based superhero games on steam?
I'm not fond of controlling just one superhero I suppose, and I don't care for the lego games either which seems to eliminate pretty much all super hero games around.

I guess I wish to see more games like this, but the team thing is what I like best.

Freedom force is old but it holds up pretty well. Great story, iconic characters, campy 50's feel. It's very well done. 2 is a bit better balanced and polished but 1 is still a bit better. Sentinels is ok, if you like turn based games and tons of fodder. Capes is coming soon too. we will see on that one.

Freedom Force was an awesome game! Not sure how well it runs on modern systems, and I've heard that the Steam version has issues but it's possibly the best hero team game out there, that I know of anyway. (but then, what else is there?)

You need to install the .exe from gog for it to work on steam to fix the cursor bug. You can mess around with it and it possibly can work in windows settings, but the updated EXE is the way to go. There is a link on the steam forums to a drop box with it if you don't grab it from gog.

If you go to the store section, the mag icon next to search and type super hero, you will see most of the super hero releases, you can define this parameter to DC comics, or Marvel Comics to get games from those studios, and it depends what you are into.
If you want to play Card turn based games, Marvel Snap, DC Duals are out.

Sentinels is a comic book crude turn based super hero game.

Rumor is Marvel is getting into the grand strategy genre as well.

Hope that helps. :Garrison:

Thanks, I've put Capes on the wishlist to keep track of it.

Try the demo, I did in one of the Next Fests and wasn't particularly impressed. YMMV

I can't imagine how that would work, unless it's just like you could be Black Panther leading the country of Wakanda, or Dr. Doom leading the country of Latveria, etc., and it isn't even a superhero game.

Possibly like a base building RTS with factions like SHIELD and Hydra having various super heroes or villains they can recruit to help.

I guess it's possible, but not exactly the first thing that comes to mind with superheroes. I'd rather see more team based games like this, or other forms of using a team.

Or maybe controlling a team of lesser evil villains having to face a greater evil villain.

Magneto, Mystique, Green Goblin, Loki, Dr Doom, Dr Octopus and such fighting against a greater villain like Apocalypse.
Then you'd get to play around with whole different powers, maybe getting some boss battles against various heroes.

No idea. Its pretty hush hush, but where there are faction warfare in branding. A grand strategy game is possible. We are going to see it Star Trek Infinite, already out, Star Wars in 2025, and LOTR, so not surprising Marvel would do one.

Also list of what is coming

Nothing surprises me anymore. :dwarven:

Would be nice to see a Star Wars strategy game again. Or just any star wars game that's not EA's garbage.

Star Wars could honestly work great for this game's formula too by the way, for a 'what if' scenario kind of thing.

Like you'd play a Jedi coming out of hiding during the original trilogy and change the course of events, become part of the resistance. Instead of the abbey, you'd get a ship.

You'd gather the resistance's heroes to take on missions with you. Luke, Leia, Obi-Wan, Han, Chewbacca, Lando and maybe some of the Rogue 1 team as well.
Heck, the story could start with your character showing up at Scariff, saving most of the Rogue 1 team. At least the ones who could be given a unique move set.
Obi-Wan could also live longer through your actions, being part of your team and being more of a mentor to Luke, maybe teaching Leia a few force powers as well.

Could also face various familiar villains, with Palpatine of course as the final boss.

Guardians of the galaxy is an amazing game, good shout :)

No problem my friends. I do think there will be an explosion of this genre in many game formats.

Here is another, if you like South Park and Superheroes, but its not for the timid.
