Rumor is Marvel is getting into the grand strategy genre as well.
Hope that helps.
I can't imagine how that would work, unless it's just like you could be Black Panther leading the country of Wakanda, or Dr. Doom leading the country of Latveria, etc., and it isn't even a superhero game.
I guess it's possible, but not exactly the first thing that comes to mind with superheroes. I'd rather see more team based games like this, or other forms of using a team.
Or maybe controlling a team of lesser evil villains having to face a greater evil villain.
Magneto, Mystique, Green Goblin, Loki, Dr Doom, Dr Octopus and such fighting against a greater villain like Apocalypse.
Then you'd get to play around with whole different powers, maybe getting some boss battles against various heroes.
No idea. Its pretty hush hush, but where there are faction warfare in branding. A grand strategy game is possible. We are going to see it Star Trek Infinite, already out, Star Wars in 2025, and LOTR, so not surprising Marvel would do one.

Nothing surprises me anymore.
Star Wars could honestly work great for this game's formula too by the way, for a 'what if' scenario kind of thing.
Like you'd play a Jedi coming out of hiding during the original trilogy and change the course of events, become part of the resistance. Instead of the abbey, you'd get a ship.
You'd gather the resistance's heroes to take on missions with you. Luke, Leia, Obi-Wan, Han, Chewbacca, Lando and maybe some of the Rogue 1 team as well.
Heck, the story could start with your character showing up at Scariff, saving most of the Rogue 1 team. At least the ones who could be given a unique move set.
Obi-Wan could also live longer through your actions, being part of your team and being more of a mentor to Luke, maybe teaching Leia a few force powers as well.
Could also face various familiar villains, with Palpatine of course as the final boss.
Guardians of the galaxy is an amazing game, good shout :)
Here is another, if you like South Park and Superheroes, but its not for the timid.
