how do i get the supervillain achievement?

There's an achievement to knockout a supervillain with a combo.

I have been using hero combos (I have 2 in deck due to high friendship) to knockout literally dozens of dread maidens. I believe she is a villain because when you hover over her it says she is a villain. But no achieve.

What gives?

Don't know, had the same issue. I had to get it in NG+ on the second story fight with Venom (obvs last phase knockdown is what gave it).

I would assume the maidens don't qualify if you've exclusively tested on them and they don't give you the achievement.
I would guess you need to use it on a named "villain" rather than the nameless demons. E.g. Venom, Boner, Witch, etc.

Yeah, I got the achievement during a fight with Venom.

You need to knock out a named supervillain with a hero combo. I just got mine today after knocking out Sabretooth. As others have pointed out, KO'ing Venom works too, so I would assume knocking out Crossbones does as well.

Also, I don't think the Dread Maidens are classified as supervillains, but they are 'boss level' enemies. Same as those Nest Mothers.

Yup should work. Doesn't need to be a story mission.

I can verify that. I got mine when Venom randomly showed up during one of the general missions.

Yes. You have to use one of the combo cards (the ones where two heroes attack the enemy together) and it has to be a named supervillain (e.g. Venom, Crossbones, Sabretooth) and not the generic demons who're classified as "villains" (e.g. Dread Maiden, Nest Mother).
