Q: If they ever took the servers offline, could you still play this game?
Q: If they ever took the servers offline, could you still play this game if you purchased this through steam?

Single Player as opposed to MP Multi Player

Doesnt matter if it's SP or not, can the game still be played offline?

The answer is yes, the game runs on your PC, not in the cloud.

From my experience, while it is a single player game, it is calling home when the game is launched. On my PC and Steam Deck, the game wouldn't work offline. I am not sure if that has changed recently, but that was true for me 8 months ago.

But I suspect that's Steam servers that check your connection, as per (mostly) all games, there's no "game server" hosted by 2K

Some games require an internet connection to run.

This one doesn't.
