Does this game run ok now on an HDD?
At launch i had a terrible time with this installed on my HDD and had to move it over to SDD. I don't play it that much so i want to move it off my SDD.

Does anyone know if its running better on HDD since its multiple of patches?

I haver this game on my 5 year old HDD and it runs just fine. It runs very smooth.

Thanks for the reply!
That's good. I'll copy it over then.

Just get another SSD. They're cheap

It's not the cost.

I have no more space inside my PC
I already have 2 NVME drives and one SSD then mega HDD for everything else.

How many available drive connections do you have on your motherboard? If you have enough, you can slap an SSD on the side of the system with some poster tack and it will hold ;) Not saying I've ever done that or anything... but yeah, that actually works.

haha wow.
Ok i'm gonna take a look. It sounds just a bout crazy enough to be worth trying.

You can always swap one, i just saw a 4tb one for like 160 or was it 170? You can get 2TB for around 100.

that said the game should run fine, the issue with HDD's is they take longer to load. with the way this game works it should be fine once you get past loading screens, so going into combat, or swapping back to the abby will just take longer. i don't know how much, but it could add a min or two.

Yeah I might upgrade. I have 2x 2tb nvme. Fills up quick these days.

Well, You could always off load some stuff to your HDD, and then move it over to your SSD. I load up my HDD with lots of stuff and run it from it as well. Only games with long load times do i stick on my SSD, but i also play a lot of older games. These days it seams newer games need an SSD, but it's an easy swap. Besides larger SSDs are quite solid, so unless your constantly swapping 150+ GB you should be ok.

Not sure what folks talking about the game running fine are talking about: returning to the game after about a year, hopefully that it's in a better state and. . .it seems worse? At least the loading. No way was it this bad when I played last winter. In-game performance has definitely improved significantly (once shaders are compiled), but the loading is obscene, and it for sure isn't the NVME drive I have the game on; this of course assumes the game doesn't crash when loading (and then CAD to force stop the process which shows 12GB worth of RAM utilization).

. . .given FIRAX's track record on previous games and long-term bug fixes, looks like the game as it is now is how it will forever be, and that's a darn shame.
