[PSA] No HDR in OLED Steam Deck
I can confirm there is no HDR available (seemingly) in OLED Steam Deck for MS, unfortunately. Not even a mention of it in the menus. I assume as part of getting it to run nicely on the deck originally it was deemed not needed and removed when the game detects it running on a deck? No idea, just speculating, or maybe it's that it needs to see Windows having HDR enabled or something. I know the game isn't really supported any longer but I figured I'd drop a PSA here in case maybe it can get fixed or just in case anyone else was wondering.

I believe in order for it to show up in the menu as a toggle, the game needs to see that Windows has HDR enabled. Is there any chance that Valve or the devs will be able to fix this in an update?? The game has HDR capability, it just isn't detecting that the display is HDR capable.

My OLED is getting here on Friday and I was so pumped to be able to play this in HDR on it. :/

Does the game support HDR in DX11? If I remember correctly they changed the default renderer from DX12 to DX11 at some point. I don't have a HDR display to test, but try launching the game in dx12 mode with the "-dx12" launch option.

No, it works in DX11 - I play it about half the time on PC and I have an Alienware OLED display there, and I only play in DX11 because I had some crashes in DX12. There are things that you can't enable in 11 like Ray something or other, I forget, but HDR was available in both modes.

I suspect Cosmic Beard is correct, it needs to "see" HDR enabled in Windows to work, I guess other Steam Deck OLED games are doing this as well such as Tetris Effect.
