Its not Live Service game to be dead, its Single Player game, it got few DLCs and now the game is done with content.
So now that all four of the originally-announced DLC are already released, there are no plans to make more.
It is not a rumour, even Take Two's CEO Strauss Zelnik said that.
in a developer stream, they clearly talked about their "first season" so at any point they had plans for another season.
I respectfully disagree. I think there is a huge overlap with fantasy/science fiction/comic-fans, RPG- and tabletop gamers and computer gamers. Go to any convention with one of these topics and you'll find a lot of individuals who also tick some (or all) of the other boxes.
However, to pick up on your thesis: The MCU plays the biggest role on how Marvel is perceived in recent years due to there being way more people who watch movies and series as opposed to those who actually buy comics. And boy oh boy has it gone downhill since Disney took over. Their obnoxious agenda pushing, badly written characters and garbage stories have alienated a lot of fans. The fact that Marvel comics has at least partially gone in a likewise direction just adds to this effect. Some people are outright done with it, and a lot of people are at least highly sceptical about new product and not as invested as they used to be. Oversaturation surely plays a role, too. So while Marvel based product can still be successful (like Spider Man or Guardians of the Galaxy 3), it has definitely become harder to hype and sell, especially when it comes to stuff like Midnight Suns which most people had never heard about before.
Haven't nearly all of the Marvel mobile games been some kind of strategy or card game? And there have been multiple card and tabletop games. Their strategy games couldn't be doing too poorly if they keep making them.
Funny enough, you would've probably enjoyed their mobile game more. 100% cards with zero "doll house" and dating. And it doesn't waste player's time at all, each battle is like 3 minutes long.
Anyway, it's not like MMS is a bad game. It sits at 82% total positive reviews and 90% recent.
XCOM2 has 84% total and 85% recent for comparison. So it's not like people tried it and didn't like it. It looks like it has failed to attract enough interest in trying it in the first place.
And sure, "Midnight Suns" is not a well known product, but the game itself has all the most popular heroes. All the Avengers, minus the lamest ones, with some all-time favorites on top. Maybe bad marketing? I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong, but I do feel that they would've sold more with an action game. Or if it was a turn-based strategy with a military/sci-fi setting and not superheroes.
@RamboRusina "Waste timer wasters" care to try that again?
