legendary chest, legendarily underwhelming

In the area beneath the garden, two legendary chests spawned.

One gave me some stuff, and the other gave me literally nothing.

and by literally nothing I don't mean it gave me useless stuff I mean it was empty, there was no reward after spending a key to open it...

there is a limit to what chests can give you, once you run out of all available unlockable cosmetics they can only give resources (gold, upgrade points, gloss), items, and combat bonuses.

When i unlock everything I save the chests until i am restocking supplies to make some potions and just open all the boxes as i run around the map picking flowers. You tend to net a good combat bonus and some good items out of it,

edit to add, if you are near complete collection but don't have everything you'll get legendary drops from a common chest and it will just give you what you don't have. So like when you unlock the last character you can fill out his cosmetics quick with white and blue chests

Same thing happened to me, wasted a key and got nothing for it. Not even resources. Maybe that chest is bugged.

That chest is bugged. It is supposed to contain the ancestral armor. It was empty for me too but I looked it up

pretty sure you only get the ancestral armor from completing all of the mysteries, the chest you're talking about should have had the dark hero ultimate or if it was one of the other ones any items you may be missing that can still be rolled for (if none then empty, always check with a free white or blue chest to see if you have non legendary rolls before spending any keys, white and blue chests will give you all legendaries if you're collection is already almost complete)

you get it from completing all mysteries not from a chest in that manner. it literally says that in the menu when you look at it before unlocking.

I wouldn't count on it. It seems the devs have abandoned the game and moved on to new projects. I totally agree that they should patch it, especially since it worked before the update and cannot be a big issue, but it is uncertain.
I had the same issue and used the mod from Nexus, worked like a charm.
