Terrible ending (in all respects) - SPOILERS
To start off, I enjoyed MS for the most part. Good gameplay loop, some good tactics and so on.

However, after having played a game that relies so heavily on dialogue and cut-scenes, the ending was a screeching halt to unavoidable car-crash, from both a technical and a story POV. As follows..

1. You basically get no time with Banner after unlocking him. A few cut-scenes and then suddenly, the option to go to the final mission. It's a huge stutter, given the build up of all the other characters. Why leave that unlock until the very end?

2. You start the final mission, to be faced with a cut-scene showing the Midnight Suns, except all the DLC characters are missing and all the outfit selections you previously made are removed. So the "we're in this together" stuff is missing Venom, Morbius and Deadpool.

3. The final mission itself starts out well enough. Until it becomes clear the game engine just can't handle everything being thrown at you...

3.1 Many instances of defeated enemies that remain in view, ruining the experience.

3.2 When first loading the mission, it crashed to desktop with a bug report modal.

3.3 The game grinds to a stuttering mess due to the overabundance of effects on display.
13900k/4090/32GB, all missions prior run at 120fps. Note: Reloading a save clears it up but it degrades as the battle resumes. Pretty sure its all the debris that gets placed.

3.4 Even had an instance of Spidermans swing/throw ability pulling half the geometry from the back (the big rocks) into the battlefield, obscuring half the characters and enemies.

3.5 Do not summon Charlie, or when she leaves, the mission ends. She's classed in the same way as the other character to Hunter, so if she "dies" or the summon expires. Game over.

4. You work through all of the above, to get a final cut scene and then...the game just ends. No dialoguey wrap up, bar a very few, very short scenes. As above, coming from a game that relies so heavily on dialogue, friendships and speaking to characters, I rocked back on my chair and couldn't believe "that's it". That's all there is to wrap up this epic storyline.

Such a huge disappointment of an ending.

Well, at least there was a rock solid unimpeachable plot with top quality dialogue in between. Otherwise it would have been a real trial of the gods to get through...

You're not wrong about the ending being buggy as heck. Every single mini-section, all enemies still alive are just frozen in place forever in the scene thereafter. Seriously, how hard is it to clean up your loose actors when you trigger the next wave? (answer: very easy). Sloppy coding.

I didn't experience any of the bugs you mentioned. My ending was a flawless victory. I'm sorry for your loss.

I had some of the bugs mentioned, like defeated enemies still standing on the battlefield. And the game crashed while loading the return to the Abbey. I am not too happy with the writing of the ending, either.
