How much of Midnight Suns do you miss by only owning the base game?
I was interested in buying this, but was really turned off by the amount of DLC so chose against it.

Is it as bad as it looks?

id never pay close to full price for base game + season pass.

but on a deep sale imo its worth it.

most of the dlc is only cosmetic costumes. the only rly worthwhile dlc is the characters, which come wit their own additional costumes n a few extra story missions dedicated to em. the real value comes in that u can use em for side missions n main story missions too.

in short u wont miss much if u only get the base game. the only rly worthwhile dlc is the characters.

Its same game loop. New superhero means new unique card deck.

Base game already gives you lots of teammates. I just unlocked wolverine, he my favorite and I try to include him in most of missions to level and get better cards.

I'd say 90% of the game is contained in the base game. I don't personally see the value in the DLC.

The DLC gives you enhancements from researching. Like the Morbius one gives you a Laboratory that allows you spend gold to get substats like Critical Rate or Fortitude. It's not necessary but it's a huge help.

One thing to note is there is not real End Game either if you rush through the storylines. That is a hefty price to put into a game that has six reductions already.
That was its failing so far.
Its a fine game, but all you will be doing is tweaking decks and playing redundant battles in the end. I would hold off until the game has a massive sale (probably around the end of the year) Unless they announce how they will add on to the End Game format to keep players invested.

you dont miss anything, but i personally beat the game before they released the dlc and since i already maxed all my friendships/ended main story i havent felt like going back to play the new characters. if you enjoy the game tho get the dlc before you get too far so the others can join in where it wouldve made sense for them to show up.

the DLCs are exactly that: an addition. You already get tons of content and no core mechanic is missing when you don't buy the DLCs. They are all tied together too and come with their own story to tell.

This.

I will also wait with the last main quest for Storm now.

The base game will keep you going for 100+ hours as lots of iconic superheroes are included without dlc's. You'll clock 200 hours plus easy if you the type to grind out all the abbey perks and max out individual heroes to unlock their legendary cards.
