Not only does it add a decent additional story campaign to the game (if you have the full season 1), but some of the Abbey upgrades alone make it worth it for the fun bonuses they can provide (shoutout to the symbiote bomb combat item, as I don't see people talk about it much and I love it).
And then there's the characters themselves!
If you're into the character writing side of things, I think this is the best Venom and Morbius I've seen, I'm not usually a fan of Venom stories but I actually really dug his character in this (and it turns out Morbius is actually interesting! Who knew?!).
But if you're just into the gameplay and decks for them then know that those are pretty great additions too!
Storm's is overpowered af and fun.
Venom's is unique once you unlock his Suns legendary card and really flips the script on what characters can do in a single turn.
Morbius' is very vampirey and gives some cool Bleed support that makes pairing him with Blade really good.
Deadpool's requires a big shift in the way you play the game, shakes things up nicely, though most people say the payoff you get for putting in the effort with him isn't that great, but he's still fun in my books.
So yeah!
Tl;dr -
My favourite four things about the dlc are:
* Good additional campaign.
* Good new character decks.
* Good new abbey upgrades.
* Good character writing.
The enemies it adds aren't that varied, but the final boss fight at the end of the dlc campaign is really great and makes up for it in that regard.
And at the end of the day, buying the dlc helps increase the chances of more dlc seasons in the future too! And that would be amazing.
I think the DLC is worth it if you buy it on sale. If not - no way, not even close.
I've been wondering how the DLCs work if you don't buy them all. The characters all become available, but their stories are intertwined. Can you even do the whole story if you don't have every single DLC?
When I bought the game in the last sale, the individual DLCs weren't on sale at all, so just buying one of them wasn't a sane move. Maybe they'll keep doing that so the question becomes mute.
No real chance of that. We'll be lucky to see any more patches, never mind DLCs.
Besides, there's no more room at the abbey. If they did more DLC, it would have to be something other than the format the current DLC used.
That being said i'd agree with most of the other folks here, the whole package is superb considering that I got it for $40 on discount.
Legendary Edition is definitely the best deal for the game, especially if you pick it up from a sale. The DLC's make the game better, and there's enough content in them that I even consider these underpriced.
