52GB update stopped and is 0 again?
I never experienced that in my life on steam. WTF? I started update Marvel Midnight Sun's and it was at 44GB. Then i disconnected to the internet and turned off my computer. And now this day, the download is at 0%. And the download starts from 0 again. Why all my previous download is lost? That's ridicolous. Anyway a 52GB for a simple patch is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nonsense. For every update i literally have to install like a new Triple A-Game for a simple game like Marvel Midnight Sun's. Just frustrating and i won't buy the DLC content anymore because of that. Cause i don't have time just to lose my download progress the next day again.

That makes no sense. That to me, sounds like a Steam problem, rather than the game itself because Steam manages internet speed on game content, not game itself.

I hope so. I m again to download the 52GB patch or whatever these 52GB are.
I had 44GB before. And now, after few hours i am at 15GB again. Hope this doesnt happen again because i have to quit it in the evening and continue downloading the next day.

It's not a 52GB patch. It's a 938MB patch that has to slowly patch the game's 52-56GB files

Like Dave says, download for DLC patch should be ~15gb and there was a second performance patch which was ~1gb, it's the unpacking which is much larger.

Just a random thought - are you really tight for storage space? Although there was an issue at launch for some people which was a Steam thing where it was taking an age for some people's game to install and the advice from devs was just to let it do its thing without turning the computer off.

Sometimes steam gets stuck while unpacking large download. Set steam to high priority in task manager, run as admin or restart steam. After that give it some time, more than likely its unpacking the game and writing it to disc.

And again. As soon i pause the download it starts from 0 again.

I dont care if its a 1GB patch or a 15GB patch. Fact is , i have to download 52 GB. Which costs me so much time that i can't do it in one day. And as soon i pause the download and try to continue, the download starts at 0 again.

I set steam already to high priority, cleaned cache, started steam and my computer new but it is still the same problem. And my storage is not tight, i have 200 GB free space on my computer.

Again. You do not download 52GB. It PATCHES the 52 GB files. However, it takes forever because steam has to patch and re copy every file. It's really a silly way to do it IMO. It'd actually be MUCH faster to redownload the files.

Now if something goes wrong, then it will redownload the entire 52GB files

Yes. I have to download 52GB. Thats the fact.
It doesnt matter if it patches or download the 52GB. I have to download 52GB otherwise i can not update and play the game.

So you tell me that i never will be able to update this game.
I mean, how dumb can developers be? 2K isn't an indy developer???

I FOUND THE SOLUTION GUYS:
I had to deinstall the whole game. After i reinstall and pause the download, it doesnt go back to zero. It continue's the download from there where it was.

Thank you 2K for that but at least i can install the game in two session's.

I had the same problem on my Steam Deck. It didn't have enough memory to update, but did not tell me that. It worked after I created more space.

re-installing the entire game is what did it for me. after the patch hit, I tried installing literally for 4 hours and it always went super slow or re-installed multiple times. what pisses me off is that I didn't do it earlier, because re-installing literally took only 35 minutes with not a single interruption

Then you're new to steam or you never payed attention. It's quite normal, the game is decompressing etc.
