How to recover lost save files
If like me you didn't have a "backup" folder after this recent update debacle. EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard saved me 40 hours of gameplay by being able to recover all recently deleted files. Give it a try if you were in the same boat as I was.

I'm having issues downloading the update. Thanks for the heads up, I've just copied my saves.

Or just use steam cloud saving.

I did, steam cloud backed up the most recent version of the file. So it only had the empty folder. So this actually deleted my entire save file history off of steam cloud as well.

Did you use the 2k launcher and then stop? I was using the launcher at first then launched the game without it and made most my progress that way. So yesterday when I updated my game and turned it on it had me use the launcher and only my first two saves were there from basically at the tutorial mission. I was ready to never play again lol, but then I got rid of the launcher again and my saves were back.

I used the 2k launcher and got all the way in to the point where it asked me to backup my games because of legacy data.

If you've already lost all of your files try using EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. If you quick scan for deleted files you should be able to find your deleted save folders under
my documents > my games > midnight suns

This is what I was able to do that saved my ass. I hope it works for your! Lmk if it does.
