Why is this update 56.8gb?
can anyone tell me the answer to this? for one dlc character?

It's a 15gb download for a character who interacts with every game system, plus whatever patching/alterations of the game they've done away from 'one dlc character'. Throw on top of that even small changes to large files sometimes need the entire large file to be replaced. It's not uncommon for games to have huge patches on Steam - Total War series is probably the most infamous for it on my list.

11.7 GB for me. Maybe your system re-downloaded the whole game.

It doesn't. People still can't tell the difference between the downloading and updating process.

Judging by the screenshot you are absolutely correct although I will say that Steams way of displaying the file size for updates isnt very clear and not an improvement.

56 is the update before the DLC, released a month ago.

Its a 15gb DLC download... the rest is that steam starts to backup files before they get a override...^^

Its also not just a patch. We have to spend another 15 € to play 1 new character. No ty.
