As for gameplay tips, hard to say because so much depends on who you've got and what cards they have in their deck. The cards you can collect from killing mobs are very powerful though, and can give you an advantage. Remember too that in the second phase that the objective is the objective - you don't need to kill all the things, just those needed to get to the next stage.
Gameplay-wise I always prioritized the elites, since when they get duplicated they lose 50% HP, so any damage done beforehand is good. After they duplicate it usually takes one ability to finish em off. I do agree it is dumb as hell that when they get cloned they also get added to the soul link web of madness. Try and focus them off with items from the start, because once there are like 4 monsters that are part of the soullink chain is it almost impossible to KO them all with only 3 card plays. Do keep in mind that they have a shared HP pool. So even if they keep linking souls, eventually they are all one-shottable.
Still, the end fight is an unbalanced mess and really takes away from a otherwise great game. I haven't managed to complete it yet, because my save files won't load the fight, but honestly I feel better not finishing it. That fight was frustrating as ♥♥♥♥.
Used Dark Hunter build.
Took me around an hour, with all those freezes occuring after someones abilities cast etc. SO i was constantly reloading after fps drops.
