My objective is to defeat the infested linin which on the 3rd fight it's that 3 health link linin (which will continue to link another unit) And there is no time limit? I play on Heroic 3 though
The defeat x amount of enemies is those General Mission type that will have device (object in the map with 0 heroism) that can call more enemy into the encounter per round.
If I recalled correctly there are more than 16 enemies? And i got all 4 round. (Enemy reinforcement 3 times)
I wasn't really paying attention the first time, just assuming it would provide me with enough enemies, but once I realized this I just forced them to split as many times as I could with weak attacks and then only killing the minions until the last wave, and that was more than enough, done it twice now, worked both times
This fight is all about population management.... can't have to few of those splitters or you'll fail the challenge... can't have to many or they'll leech you dry.
First, the mids duplicate themselves on any minor hit. So if you can ram two into one another, you'll have a nice split. Second, bring some aoe to the fight. You're going to have to balance of course the number you make with being overwhelmed and getting killed. In your post it sounds like you simply missed that you can make them divide yourself, so you are not reliant on rng. No worry, it happens to us all.
That said, stack your deck with chained whip and AOE skills. If you can get 2 K.O.s for the price of one it will keep you ahead of pace in the death count.
This is the solution, you need the splits because there's otherwise not 16 kills to be made. You can allow as many splits as you like and with an upgraded blocking skill (with counter) you can basically fend off their leeching attacks quite well.
The labeling of the rounds is still misleading, but if you understand how it works you can still keep track. The # rounds left should be read as the round you are actually on. It's not just a problem for the Purify seal fight. I've also seen the same labeling in the training room and in timed missions. Fortunately you'll also get alerts (in at least some of those fights) that clearly state how many rounds you have left. They appear in the same space as the "Objective Complete" message.
Oh, also over-level if you need to. I was like 21 or 22 when I finally beat it even though the recommended level is 16. It really helped since Charlie had a much stronger set of cards and didn't require much (if any) healing at that level to complete the fight.
