Denuvo also does not damage and components. It cannot directly harm your system. That is misinformation and a complete misread of what is actually happening with the software. Yes, it does occasionally cause performance issues. Those issues are worse with some systems than they are with others. These performance issues are caused by the fact that Denuvo does look at the login and the IP used to do so. This is to prevent piracy. Denuvo is also attached to the game software, does NOT install on you system directly, and is designed to scan from the outside in to try an make sure you are playing a legitimate copy of the game. The fact that it affects the game without any sort of actual installation on your system, but is still checking for legit login, tends to create a sort of digital "backlash" (for lack of a better term) that can cause lag, stutter, slowdown, and occasional rubberbanding. None of this harms physical components in any way.
The real problem with Denuvo is that it doesn't work. Most pirate sites have ways around it, and most competent hackers can simply bypass it. The performance issues it causes are really not worth it considering it doesn't even help that much. It might keep some of the low level pirates away, but it doesn't get updated very often and gets cracked constantly. I do wish people would stop using it because it doesn't actually do much to directly prevent pirating and the technical issues with it can be frustrating, especially on older, lower spec systems.
All that said, Denuvo is more or less harmless. Tons of games have it. Some of them are pretty big name games as well. It's a minor annoyance. Nothing more.
Thank you for listening.
Have a nice day.
It is not proven that it causes hardware failures but it is a fact that Denuvo affects the performance of games. Digital Foundry made a comparison between Resident Evil with Denuvo and a cracked copy with zero performance problems.
So the main problem about Denuvo it's that we buy a crap copy and pirates get a good one for free
That's because I mainly play on console and with Xbox Game Pass on PC
♥♥♥♥ its lag inducing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
The factually wrong replies and your comment getting the clown thing show how utterly retarded people here are. You and OP are right. Denuvo is ♥♥♥♥.
1: It is not effective at stopping piracy, it was cracked within a month of it's inception and so far every game to include has been cracked sooner or later. As far back as 2017 denuvo games in general have been cracked within hours of release
2: Given that denuvo themsleves acknowledge "every protected game eventually gets cracked" it's main implementation these days is to stop cheating in online games, which it isn't effective at doing that either
3: It significantly hinders the performance
So people saying things like "Why Denuvo is just a problem for thieves. Otherwise, there are no..." Literally has zero grasp of what denuvo is or what it does, but are still quick to insult people for not being fans of a performance destroying, ineffective tool that even in a best case scenario serves zero purpose in a single player game
