Game not launching

As stated... whether via the Library "play" button or the shortcut, it creates a brief popup and the button switched to "Stop" as though it's running, before unceremoniously reverting back to "play" as though I never hit it.
Already tried verifying file integrity, no luck there.
In the process of uninstall/reinstall.

Possibly worthy of note, I bought this game 2 days ago literally 5 minutes before it went on sale, so I refunded and then repurchased it, as the refund policy specifically says is our prerogative. I did not boot the game until now, I did not uninstall it between the refund and repurchase... leaving me wondering if it's an authorization issue?

Anyway, anyone have any advice for me if this reinstall doesn't address the problem?

I hope you get it to run. Just be aware there is a Save Game issue once you do get it running. I spend half my allotted gaming time just trying to get my save games to load.

Reinstall did not fix the issue, unfortunately.
So could really use advice, from someone on the team if no on else, on what to try.

I was excited to try this so would hate to have to refund this again and just wait for the Switch port or never play it, presumably, but I'm at a loss for other ideas presently.

It's only players here. There's very little that's user configurable so I think your quickest (albeit most painful) bet would be 2K Support.

The problem is as everybody says, apparently. The 2K launcher is completely broken. How is this not advertised or labeled anywhere? Ridiculous. People are being suckered into buying a game that won't even launch without a minor "hack".

Sorted it right out, big ups iktiw.

I gotta agree it's some shenanigans that 2K does things like break their game with jank launchers then can't be arsed to have even one staffer check in on a Bugs section in one of the largest digital storefront... this is why I waited till post release to get my hopes up for this one... I had hopes between Firaxis and the concept, but kinda figured 2K would screw it up somehow.

Glad users are here for each other at least though, thanks again to everyone that pitched in... hopefully anyone else having this problem will spot this now

Got it to work with the video, I just restarted my pc and now its working after the modification
