you can take down all the mercs and do some damage to crossbones. then when you got 3-4 turns on the bombs you spend a round to just rush him down. repeat for the 2nd time as well.
If you got a proper deck you also got sufficient knockback/move enemy kind of cards. Which allows you to position mercs near edges of the bridge. the bridge is already quite narrow as is. meaning you only need to damage mercs for half their life and at a 60% or higher chance drop them of the edge. saves time and energy that can be used on crossbones himself. Also knockback/shoving enemies into crossbones to take down his shield is a good one to use. same as with shocktroopers.
its really not that difficult of a fight.
Maybe I have the wrong heroes because it#s literally impossible here.
And Blade on my 2nd time around. with dark hunter+Blade it was a walk in the park. Mind control crossbones or a merc to attack each other. bleed damage on the a target and then apply big damage to take out big chunks of hp.
You do need to have upgraded cards on the characters. if you havent played and upgraded them enough then its on you. I can't help you there other then to say go back to grind out side missions with them.
First down was with an inspired strenghtened overpowered patience ('cos what else would I be saving those items for?).
Second down was with an 8-shot surgical strike followed up by a team up the turn after.
As for the boss, you have to defeat them all multiple times. Crossbone's is no exception.
Thats a bug. Each reinforcement wave is supposed to have an elite trooper with a delay card.
It even went so far that I farmed countless other missions to get stronger characters and still failed.
But I also overlooked the fact that you get more turns by redrawing the map to delay the expansion.
That was the gamechanger for me and I have just completed this mission.
