How in the hell is the last mission possible on ultimate 3?
i'm at phase 3 of the sealing thing. i've just got blade and the hunter against 2 dread maidens, 2 summoners, and 2 infested guardians?

i literally can't get to turn 2 without using a vial of shadows. and turn 2 is a lost cause because blade dies despite being level 25

Plenty people done it, look up on youtube maybe, i dont want to look cause dont want to spoil it, i know "Zedd" has speedruns on ultimate 3 where he goes through from start to finish on ultimate 3 just doing the story missions and required side missions and without using quick cards etc

well with a metric ****ton of save scum, i finally figured out a path passed phase 3. phase 4 was pretty easy. very underwhelming ending though

nah, he does it in a livestream, but sure, sometimes you get unlucky, the hard part is making the rng work for you, and thinking 5 moves ahead.

After playing on U3 for the longest time, I made a temp switch back to story mode. The XP/Gloss gain isn't remotely worth the difficulty spike. I can tell they tried to emulate Diablo's Difficulty scaling, but failed to adjust the rewards, making the risk you take vastly outway the rewards. Now, I spend significantly less time on missions, and instead of levelling 2.5 times on average per mission per character, I get about 1.5 levels (Prestige). Unless it's Ironman. Cuz once he gets on a role, he's just playing cards non-stop clearing out the field, on any difficulty.

Dark hunter can solo the whole thing. That's how i finished my playthrough. Annihiilation can hit over 3k. Light hunter might struggle because you might lack damage depending on who you get in that phase.

Sure, but not all of us play on harder difficulities because of the rewards, some do it cause it forces us to actually think instead of just slamming head on keyboard and win

The issue is that you cant redraw it or does the legendary bonus thing still work?

You use the passive that means hunter cards are not expended.

No save scumming required. each seal you do there are god cards that appear. Just don't use the one that gives 2 rounds of vulnerability/stun and keep it on you till the last seal with the dread maidens. then you apply the god card and destroy all enemies in 1 round and be done.

Alot of people assume that just because you get those cards of set and syph that you need to use them straight away. well you shouldn't.

With dark hunter you can also mind controla nd have the dread maidens attack the enemies for you. with my light hunter i have 2 morningstars on a quick that i had build up in previous seal stages. so the morningstars did incredible damage.

Agreed. and to be honest. Up to Ulti2 the game is pretty much the same. it isn't till Ult 3 you really need to pay attention since you can't afford a mistake that has a hero go down. I too play for the challenge. However due to the endless champion/friend levels you can gain. you'll eventually outlevel that challenge as well.

How do you keep the cards between phases when playing the seal discards your entire hand?
Giblix Dec 27, 2022 @ 5:27am
it discards your hand, but not the cards in your deck. and those god cards are part of the deck. although you do need to look at which hero will make use of that card. if it is one that says nico has to use it. there is no reason to keep it with you

Thought Zedd's post-run commentary landed about where I am with it. The game is very flexible in what you can use so long as you build your decks around how you're using them. Everything else just adds style points. I don't chase after specific mods, I have an idea of what I want generally but I can get there in different ways.

The rest is just the basics of TTBs. Even on U3 in the final missions you can have wriggle room. I found the first phase to be the messiest for me on both my completions but that's really me being slack on positioning (although Charlie as a swap in is still BS). The second phase fights are really about the cards you can get and utilising them effectively while keeping the second character alive with your overpowered hunter. Some form of heal from Hunter is always good to have in your pocket - even Dark Heal (one I used applies resist too).

I don't savescum, I play an honour ironman in most games, but I did save/reload mid-mission a couple of times on my second completion just to see if it would help with the technical stuff. (It did seem to fwiw.)
