Yes I was able to and I wish I could be more help with the specifics here (did it yesterday, forgot what I did) but are you using the marketplace feature on the 2K launcher? IIRC I used the marketplace tab inside the actual game's main menu (the one that lets you "continue", tinker with settings, etc.). That marketplace tab had a place for promo redemption that did the trick.
