Early on gloss seems like something you need so much of, but I haven't even made it to part 2 of the story and I'm quickly running out of things to spend it on since I don't care about every single colorway.
So, while in general I do agree with your dislike for time based rating, I don't think it's a huge issue in this particular game since you're not losing out on anything unique or any significant loot.
Only gives you bonus gloss.
Obviously in the beginning it's much harder to get 3 stars since you dont have a choice on which cards to play - but by level 5 or so your decks should start coming together that give you a good shot at 3 stars, even if you're dealt a bad hand and both redraws suck and you don't have draw extra cards available and there's not enough heroism to fuel environment etc etc.
