I'm guessing your arcane knowledge level is basically nothing, apparently it adds a modifier to your gains. I can understand you wanting to skip the abbey stuff if your main form of enjoyment is the missions, but until something changes you ARE losing out on a lot of stuff. Later on you'll get a way to buy and sell things, but it's horribly skewed towards buying things and comes fairly late game. There's a lack of relic missions too sometimes which stops you progressing your research level. Credits is BTW the most important resource because it allows you to add modifiers and reroll them.
honestly I do think some of the systems involving credits needs to change.
I've unlocked interrogations recently, but so far have only been getting more intel.
@ spyke2009 Thank you, that's very interesting! You are right my arcane is next to nothing. I seem to be having more luck with relic rewards, there's almost always a side mission available for that.
You're more than welcome. I reckon the issue I was hitting was that i was grinding for builds I wanted to try card wise and moving too far ahead in progress which was locking off from relics me due to not progressing the story. could be just bad rng though. Games story often interferes with wanting to just play the tactical element and avoid the abbey. Would love for the upcoming dlc to fix that.
As you progress and you start emptying out the boxes in the Abbey (see: getting the cosmetics), you'll start to get other rewards and credits does happen, and that's where I've been making the lion's share.
I would also suggest making a couple of loops of the Abbey's interior before you start a mission and before you go to sleep for the day picking up the random orbs, as I tend to get an ok amount of random credits (15-20/day usually). Also make sure to pet/praise Charlie, some of her rewards are credits.
