Can I do unlimited side quest without doing the story mission?
Seems the side quest is unlimited. Can I just keep doing all the side quest without doing the story mission?

Yep, you can spam General quests, as they're called, as much as you want. You're not forced to do any story mission (or you are rarely, I started act 2 and I've done a lot of farming).

Also fun fact, you can keep farming, as the game scales with you, so it won't become faceroll

It's good to do some missions though, mostly to get to the hero unlocks, but you can do however many missions you want for as long as you want. The game even has systems in place for when you hit the max level cap for friendships and actual level to allow you to keep gaining bonuses, I forgot the in-game name for it but think of it like prestige, Level cap is 25, but you get 5 health and 1 offence stat per level beyond that, it's not much but it does carry over into NG+. Friendship prestige levels give stat bonuses to the hero in question, so far it's been +10 to a random stat each time you get 10 points.

Essentially what I'm saying is that the devs accounted for people who just wants to play the game and keep going.

Thanks for your tip, didn't know that haha

Also side note for OP, but it's extremely important and enjoyable to farm general missions, to get your Research to level 10, get all upgrades, most importanly farm cards/materials for your heroes and Intel Ops.

Well noted thanks. I was afraid of doing too much side mission to affect the storyline.

I've been doing that to use story missions to test for technical problems. If you're doing the Abbey side of things then you may find things gated by story missions not being done but that's the only restriction I've run into.

The only thing that's effected is that you make the new heroes look bad when you get them, their basic decks will be so trash compared to a hunter who's spent the last 20 hours farming for better stuff, quick enough to get someone up to speed though, learning to play them is another matter.

Yep, not to spoil but if anyone's curious, the recommended level for all the abbey is 16 and the final required mission for unlocking every "story time gate" for abbey is The Bell Tolls , which comes fairly early in the act 1.

It ain't much of a spoiler, but I've marked it as such, if you don't want to know, or posted it if you want.
