Crash on Sleep?
Fights, inventory, explore, change settings, chat, change clothes, hundreds of other things, runs fine.
End of the day when sleep, it crashes. Every time.
Any fixes?
On Steam Deck, not tried PC, not seen topic so assuming Deck issue? or is everyone not sleeping?

I ran into that on my PC. Lowering graphics to 'low' rather than 'medim' quality helped. I think it has to do with the amount of VRAM in your GPU - I only have 4GB, and there's a huge texture-switch during the "sleep" cutscene. Maybe the VRAM is getting exhausted and causing the game to crash.

I had to load an earlier save and the sleep cutscene worked the second try

For the record y'all, I was having near-constant crashing on the Steam Deck after a certain point - and running it through GE Proton 7.37 fixed almost everything. Here's a video link:

Am on steam deck also and I get the same exact issue as OP.

I had the first dream sequence lock up the first time it loaded. After a reboot it worked.

Glad in way too see others, better odds of a fix.
Tried barest of settings, low resolution, etc. Not fixed.
Will try new Proton/Wine, thanks.

Just popping in here to say I had the same problem and forcing Proton Experimental not only fixed the issue for me but I get much better performance overall and higher frame rates now. Hope that helps!!
I've used proton experimental and it doesn't change a thing.

Literally can't get past night 1 sleep scene on my pc as it keeps crashing, reduced quality to low and the lilith cutscene pops up but then it crashes right after it. Has this issue been resolved on pc?

The base problem, AFAIK, is DX12. Using DX12, the game crashes every time on two scenarios: Hunter sleeping, and when a Hero Operation finishes and tries to retrieve a comic-book cover. In other words, DX12 is crashing every time on certain asset loading operations. And it doesn't seem to be related to the specific model of GPU or VRAM.

On Linux, Windows games run under Vulkan (Proton uses the API for rendering), which emulates DX11; on Windows proper, if you force the game to run in DX11 mode using the '-d3d11' launch property, many (but not all) of the crashing problems disappear.

DirectX 12 is busted in this game. The most recent patch seems to have made little difference in the crashes people are having -- in fact it may have made the problems worse for a lot of people.

Note: if you run Steam on Linux, upgrading to ProtonGE improves performance a lot for a lot of Windows games, and this is for all Linux boxes, not just the Steam Deck.

Dealing with the same issue on the steam deck. Nothing changes no matter the proton I use or settings I change.

Yup, pretty much same here. Fine for most of the time I'm playing, but without fail it always crashes on going to sleep. Weird thing is that it wasn't much of a problem before the patch, but post patch it is consistent.

I've been all over the Deck threads looking to resolve this exact issue
I can play for hours until I try to sleep
And it was running perfectly before the first patch. I emailed support and they replied Not supported on Deck, can't help you.

Cross-posting from another thread as I've had no issues with sleep and acceptable performance after setting up a number of fixes.

I followed this Reddit thread along with the launch options:
eval $( "DXVK_ASYNC=1" | echo "%command% -d3d11" | sed "s/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe'.*/MidnightSuns\/Binaries\/Win64\/MidnightSuns-Win64-Shipping.exe'/" ) -d3d11

Posted my working config on ShareDeck[sharedeck.games] fwiw -- think in addition to ProtonDB, it can be a nice Deck-specific guide; my notes are to set these options under graphics:
World Detail and Textures are Epic, Fast TXAA, Turned off Depth of Field and Motion Blur, Low Lighting options. Also had to copy my save files under the desktop OS (SSH) due to disabling the 2K launcher (quit the game first!):
cd ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/368260/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My\ Games/Marvel\'s\ Midnight\ Suns/ mkdir -p Saved cp -r Saved_Steam_{STEAM_ID}/* Saved/

The biggest impact was the 30fps cap + the windowed resolution of 1152x720 vs. native display/720p/1080p. Sure the Linux OS tweaks are helpful too with swappiness et al.

Only caveat is there are vertical bars when plugged into a 1080p display (TV.) I can live with that.
