Tried barest of settings, low resolution, etc. Not fixed.
Will try new Proton/Wine, thanks.
On Linux, Windows games run under Vulkan (Proton uses the API for rendering), which emulates DX11; on Windows proper, if you force the game to run in DX11 mode using the '-d3d11' launch property, many (but not all) of the crashing problems disappear.
DirectX 12 is busted in this game. The most recent patch seems to have made little difference in the crashes people are having -- in fact it may have made the problems worse for a lot of people.
Note: if you run Steam on Linux, upgrading to ProtonGE improves performance a lot for a lot of Windows games, and this is for all Linux boxes, not just the Steam Deck.
Dealing with the same issue on the steam deck. Nothing changes no matter the proton I use or settings I change.
I can play for hours until I try to sleep
And it was running perfectly before the first patch. I emailed support and they replied Not supported on Deck, can't help you.
