Do reagents spawn by chance?
I found like 30 of ironcap/wolfsbane or whatever it is called in english, I found merely 7 of a needed one and can't find anything anymore around the abbey. Do reagents respawn after some days/weeks? Do they spawn by chance and I am just unlucky?

they respawn even if you do only side missions
some tho seem only be accessable when you open more blood gates.
i wished there was a way i dont need to manualy go and pick them up its so annoying.

They respawn frequently but depending on the reagent they may only spawn at certain times of day/night/weather. At least thats what the in game tooltips imply.

they only spawn at certain time of the day and at certain areas of the map so some of them require you to unlock more areas of the abbey before you have access to them

Don't they just respawn whenever it rains?

apparently you need to explore during the day AND at night if you want to get all of the regents. Honestly one of the most annoying parts of this game.

IMO ignore the regents and the whole brewing system - you get enough good game items from regular crafting and it doesn't give you that much essence... so no real point in doing this.

So, there's some good news. That definitely isn't true. If you only go out at night you can get all types of reagent, I just did this myself.

It *might* be true that different particular plants respawn when it rains in the day, than respawn when it rains at night. However, since they do not seem to despawn I'm not sure it matters.

As far as I can tell (and I can't 100% guarantee this) if you simply go out each night when it rains, or has rained since you last went out and do a lap of the parts of the abbey where plants spawn (i.e. you can skip all the caves, the area NE of the standing stones, the area around Agatha's cottage, the path west of the graveyard and a few other small zones) you will never miss anything.

That doesn't take away from your central point that it is boring though, by any means. But you can reduce the random element and time you spent on it a bit and still get a lot of the benefit.

Just adding to what I said about the benefit:

It can be significant because there are certain cauldron items you can get very early that are much more powerful than bench craftables at that point. E.g. Fury Totem = 10 witch hazel + 10 deadly nightshade and provides virtually unlimited card draw; Greater Strength Tonic = 15 Moon flower + 5 Deadly nightshade and provides +50% damage for 2 turns. Later on you can craft Cursed Effigies for 15 Spider lily and 10 Black trumpet which are probably the most powerful consumable against Hydra, making them all vulnerable and marked for one turn. Vial of Shadows are also a great "get out of jail free" card, granting concealment at a cost of 15 Corpse flowers and 5 Doll's eyes.

It is absolutely possible to just farm the particular plants you want if you pay attention to the locations for these plants.

I usually just go on a waxing moon night when the Wundergore Everbloom has spawned and collect everything else that night too. More seems to spawn if you don't check daily, or seem to anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'll answer your question with another question:

Does Google function as a search engine that gives me answers to anything I could ever ask for?

On 3rd December 2022 when this thread was created? It didn't answer this question, at least.

I would not check every day and night, they respawn randomly, but they don't leave once they spawn in. if you're looking for one area's specific plants, check it every day. if you want to do a full sweep, wait around 5 days. i time mine with when Ebony appears. Also when it rains on a waxing moon, check everywhere for wundagore everblooms.
