55 FPS in Abby with a 4090 in 1440p. Yikes.
5800x
4090
32 GB DDR4

Full EPIC settings with no DLSS, and max Ray Tracing = 55 FPS in the Abby after tutorial is done.

Yikes.

I can drop Ray Tracing to pick up frames to 100 FPS.

So, I take it everyone else is basically running like ass then with Ray Tracing on?

Also, HOLY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ STUTTERS BATMAN

Literally teleporting around running to meet the Midnight Suns after waking up. Jesus ♥♥♥♥.

This game really does seem fun, but that's just atrocious performance with Ray Tracing.

Sucks. I really want to support Frixasis. I'm a huge Xcom fan. Hell, I have OpenXcom (as in the 1994 Xcom) installed on my computer right now.

But why the hell don't games release in polished fashion anymore? Such a shame. Same kinda ♥♥♥♥ with Darktide release as well. Smh.

I keep reading over and over again that the 40 series isn't worth the buy, I legit have not researched it enough because I just got the 3080ti and am content, but this exact thread comes up in a lot of game forums.

I heard disabling the 2K launcher helps a lot with the stuttering issues. There is a guide already out there on how to achieve that.

A graphics card isn't the problem here. Poor optimization or being linked to more than one store/runner can cause issues such as these as can other elements. Rarely does a graphics card by itself cause such a problem unless it was faulty to begin with before you ever got it.

the 4090 series is a software update at best. If the game doesnt support full DLSS3 your raytracing and general performance will be around the same as a 3090. The 4XXX series is a borderline scam. THO it should be running better, It wont be miles better than a 3090 or previos gen.

Meanwhile ... i have all ultra with a meager 5600x+6800xt and guess what ... i have 100fps as well in 3440x1440 in the abbey and 40fps with both RTX options on.

feels like your 4090 is a scam ... most people have issue in other titles... aka callisto protocol and Darktide as well.

guess it's now the norm for dev to release ultra unoptimized mess. not gonna lie, i miss the days when release actually meant it was playable with very little bugs and mostly optimized and playable.

nowadays we are served hot garbage when it comes to optimizations/performances/bugs

This is incorrect information that seems to reek of a prejudice against the new cards. I wouldn't believe this. They are genuinely more powerful, but a more powerful card doesn't mean all your gaming issues on pc are going to be instantly fixed. There are many reasons why something can break, several have nothing to do with your graphics card.

sucks when you own a microwave like the 4090

haha reeks of "I can't afford"

Force V-sync on in the Nvidia control panel. Between that and setting the FPS to your monitor's rate in the same place, I got rid of my stutters completely.

The game runs perfectly for me now.

It's the 2K launcher most likely, I'm on a 3090 and generally getting 100-144 fps pretty consistantly just launching the direct and skipping the launcher.

rtx is buggy i get 130fps without it

I disabled. Got maybe 7 frames or so.

They real key, like all other new releases until it's optimized:

Turn off Ray Tracing

The 4090 is a luxury item. The xx90's have always been a card that's overpriced but offers the best performance.

I'm more than happy with my purchase. And I'm sorry, but reviews don't lie. Gamer Nexus said it themselves. The card is in fact a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beast.

What I'm upset with is that games release with Ray Tracing completely unoptimized.

The fact that patches are needed to fix released games being the norm is disgusting. In a AAA title no less.

Feels bad.
