So many peoples played that game and we had so much fun and enjoyed it.
I tried to download the game on steam, but all servers are offline and its just death and u cant register a new account or login with your main account.
Lets hope the game will be someday on steam again and playable :\

I'm honestly confused why they don't bring it back...it was one of the few games where I happily spent money on cosmetics for my favorite characters.

It doesn't, the only company that could possibly launch a new Marvel Heroes project is Disney. Firaxis doesn't even do MMO's.

Yes I agree, I loved the game and would give my left kidney to get it back. But this is barking against the wrong tree.

The returnal of Marvel Heroes is 0% in the hands of Firaxis.

While it was a good game, it was mismanaged and disney/marvel yoinked the licence

(blah blah sexual misconduct allegations ect, spending money places they weren't meant to)

It's certainly not coming back with the same people

If I remember correctly, the new CEO of the company that made it did some dubious stuff on the side and I had heard that Disney had tried to buy the rights back but the deal didn't work out.

Lots of hearsay obviously, including something about the CEO running away with a lot of money.

However I'm not so sure Disney would have kept the game going since during that time they were cutting corners everywhere, including closing the company behind Marvel Avengers Alliance, which was still quite popular at the time.

Basically they were downsizing (and still are) and didn't like having so many different branches to worry about. Still, would be great to be able to play again.

It was great to work on, and one of my all-time favorites to play, but lets be thankful that an awesome dev like Firaxis got to make an awesome Marvel game like this one. It may not be the same, but it helps heal the wounds. :)

Agreed. Marvel Heroes is the game with the highest hours played I have on Steam. I miss it but if this can give me even half that playtime I'd be ecstatic. I'm hoping it will be successful enough to warrant and expansion pak in the future.

Because the game was laying in ruins for about a year before it got shut down. The reason being it became unfun and imbalanced thanks to cobbling together a console friendly version of the game people loved to play on pc. Thus the company ran out of money. I also think their CEO got caught in the whole metoo thing back then.

In other words: No one wants to buy up an outdated video game concept that fell flat on its nose due to mismanagement. I'm convinced it would not pull back in enough people even if you'd take the good version (before console merge and infinity system rework) and refurbished the graphics to look like a modern game.

the guy that forecfully took the company over is the reason it losts its license. disney did not want to be associated with him. brevik was ousted from the company in a take over. tragic.
