Legendary Edition gives "30 days early access to Dr. Strange Defender's Skin"

What does this mean? The standard and deluxe get the skin, but legendary gets early access to a skin the cheaper ones get? Very strange wording.

My guess is that the Defenders skin isn't going to be a "launch" skin for anyone other than the legendary version. Kind of a weird "flex" to be added to the legendary pack. But since cosmetics don't really matter beyond the "will I still be playing this in 30 days", it's nothing to be concerned with.

It's just a psychological trick to make people buy the more expensive version. Not a fan of time limited things in games to be honest. Even less a fan of time gated things. I remember this was also in Civilizations 6 when it released (also 2k Games): The Aztecs under Montezuma were exclusive for deluxe version owners for a while and afterwards everyone got to play them.

Hard to tell what it means because all the preview/review copies have been Legendary Edition. I don't think a Dr.Strange skin for 30 days before everyone else gets it is really material to those of us who've bought it, when the additional price is that we're paying for a couple of dozen skins to use immediately and the season pass.

This is the preordered bonus skin for Strange, you can get this by preordering wherever they're promoting it. Everybody has access to it provided you preorder the game.

It is, thread is asking why the Legendary Edition has this extra sentence the other pre-order editions don't.

I wondered if it was an aborted idea from further back in time which no-one had altered for this release date, couldn't find any of the old marketing bumf to prove it either way though. Fun smallprint.

Yeah could be, like it probably used to be a Legendary Edition early access for 30 days, but then they decided to make it a preorder bonus instead but nobody told the marketing team to change the text.

man this seems like some annoying monetization for a sp tactical strategy game. video games keep going deeper down the whirlpool. I guess if it turns out decent I'll grab the bundle for it in next year's holiday sales or something maybe

The cosmetic skins being sold ingame? I guess it's all a bit horse armour. O tempora o mores. This cosmetic skin here is just a pre-order bonus though.
