And right now the game is buggy as hell for the content it's offers. So I hope they fix that soon, it's still a fully released game.
Wait what? What bugs? I've seen none in over 10 hours.
Just to list a few:
- Achievement bugs: they simply won't trigger sometimes.
- End game bug: The "The crown is safe" won't appear, even if you defeat all 4 portals.
- Knight shield bug: Sometimes the knight shield is placed above the castle, so no recruit can reach it and you will have one less knight on the front for the whole game.
- Some expand problems: Don't know how exactly the work, but some players can't build or even walk in a particular direction.
+ many more, look at the bug report thread.
I didn't have bugs either in the first 10 hours or so. But after hunting down the achievements (and play more) I got the first three bugs I mentioned by myself. So it's pretty random ... and therefore really frustrating.
Well, of course some things would have to be added or changed, like the number of knights a player could send, maybe even the ability to include the seige weapons, but I don't want anything that would change the core mechanics of the game.
I should also mention that I don't want multiplayer to be a focus of the game. This should just be a thing the devs create and forget occasionally touching it up if bugs are found. But I agree with ragnar in the sense that the devs should invest more resources to adding content for single player, but this multiplayer would be a nice touch of competitiveness and some longevity to the game. It could create for some very interesting tactics and behaviors that wouldn't be seen in the singleplayer.
If they were to suddenly implement a coop mode though, I expect all they'd really have to do is weigh the waves slightly heavier (x1.5 or x2 the amount of enemies) to deal with two people being able to watch the kingdom. Even then, the game might still be easier, but it'd maintain the semi-relaxed atmosphere the game is going for, if you're playing with a buddy or girlfriend on the couch.
