Trainer/cheat available [Updated for 1.2.0]

Hi, i made a trainer for Kingdom, i know some of you are interested in but before doing anything stupid, am i allowed to post this here ? (it's totally free ofc and you still need to buy the game for playing)

For the moment it allows to:

- Dupe gold
- Wall immunity to damage
- Infinite stamina

Since duping gold, impenetrable walls and infinite stamina are all some form of cheat, hack or exploit, I would say that your post clearly breaches the rules. Probably not severely enough to get a permanent ban though.

(I'm not a moderator and don't personally care because I don't use cheats and the use of your product by others will not detract from my enjoyment of this single-player game.)

I just found this today. DLed it and almost instantly realized the wall and the horse endurance dont work and sometimes turning them on crashed the game. The gold dupe works as intended, but that is all.

I didn't updated the trainer for the last version of the game, i don't have enough time to do it right now, but i will eventually

The official position on this "trainer/cheat"

Owmince first released his "trainer/cheat' (hereafter simply referred to as "cheat") and started this topic back in late October 2015, about a week after Kingdom's release on Steam. Posting and discussion of cheats is a clear breach of Steam's Discussions Rules and Guidelines (as mentioned in a previous post), yet this topic has not been locked or deleted and Owmince has not been banned. Many of you — especially the ones that reported him — have wondered why.

Steam's rules are created primarily to protect members of the community from other members of the community — to make sure that your enjoyment of games on Steam is not ruined by the behaviour of others. By necessity, the rules have to be simple to understand and broad in scope. They apply, by default, to all Steam discussion forums regardless of the nature of the game being played or discussed. However, all games are not the same.

Kingdom is (as of v1.1.0) a single player game. You do not play with others, nor do you play against others. How well (or poorly) one player does in a game of Kingdom does not influence how well (or poorly) other players do in their games. Thus any player that uses this cheat will not be ruining the enjoyment of Kingdom for any other player. Since no-one's enjoyment is being ruined by the behaviour of anyone else there is, in essence, no problem that needs to be fixed. That is why this thread has not been locked or deleted, and why Owmince has not been banned.

Note that this position holds only so long as Kingdom is a single player game. If co-op, multiplayer, or any other feature is introduced where the cheat has any possible way of impacting other player's enjoyment, then this position will change.

Two of the features of this cheat (gold dupe and wall immunity) effectively eliminate all challenge from the game. It is hard to imagine how anyone would enjoy a game that does not challenge them in the slightest. It is also unclear why anyone would continue to play such a game. In effect, installing and using this cheat will do little more than ruin your enjoyment of the game. It makes virtually no sense to spend money to buy a game and then use a cheat to ruin your experience of it.

If you try it, this is probably what will happen...
Installing and using this cheat will give you a "god-mode rush" for a single, short game — maybe a couple of hours. Then you will realise "there's no point playing any more" and exit. When you go back to a regular game you will then find the lack of god-mode to be limiting and annoying — you will form a negative view of core mechanics like developing farms, collecting gold, upgrading and repairing walls, and so-on. You cannot 'undo' your exposure to "god-mode" — this altered view is permanent. You probably won't even finish that game. There's a very real chance you will quit and never play Kingdom again — depriving yourself of many hours of enjoyment in the process.

If you want to get the maximum enjoyment out of Kingdom, if you want to get the most value for your money, then simply play the game the way it was designed to be played. In the long run, the only thing a cheat like this will do is cheat you out of some fun.

Finally, credit must go to Owmince for asking permission to post details of his cheat in this forum. Many wouldn't, but he did. Being polite is an approach that always works in your favour. It is hoped that he will, one day, use the programming skills he has developed and honed in building and updating this cheat to produce software that doesn't have a downside.

As i said in my first post i was not sure if the dev were okey with this, that's why i never posted the link on steam.

I really enjoy this game and i was curious to know a little more about how it worked.

The fun fact is that i never played with the hack for real, i only tested it when i was creating the hack, but never used it because as you said, it changes the way you see the game. But a lot of people like to do so.

In a situation like this, making players aware of the likely consequences of their actions is an appropriate response. Whether or not they heed the warning is up to them.

But a lot of people like to do so.

If you don't mind me asking... How many times has your cheat actually been downloaded? I'm sure RawFury and the devs are curious about the number.

Quick question, why does the wall protection not work on Bloodmoon? either way im happy with it, but I would greatly appreciate you fix that and maybe add back infinite stamina :D

No idea ! sometimes you have to check/uncheck the wall protection (after upgrading your wall for example). The wall protection hack is somehow unstable, i will see what i can do on the next version (out soon)
